4.0 out of 5 stars Praise the Warlord!!
Heavy, doomy early 70's metal similar to Sabbath, Atomic Rooster and Black Widow. Studio material rocks live stuff doesn't.If you like your metal dark you may like this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Wrong release
This is a totally wrong release (re-issue) trying to cash in on iconoclastic hard rock/proto-doom British outfit, using the original artwork of legitimate compilation featuring:
1. Jasmin Queen
2. Explorer
3.Face of The Sun
4. Warlord
5. Lady Killer
6. To The Devil A Daughter

The genuine Warlord was a short-lived brainchild of exceptional organist Ivan Coutts, which emerged from Blacksmiths. Now, that one is a must for everybody about HMR and doom

2.0 out of 5 stars Where's the "Sabbath-style" doom?, March 6, 2004
This review is from: Warlord (Audio CD)
Contrary to the info given by the label, there's absolutely no Sabbath influence or "doom metal" (or any metal for that matter) whatsoever on this disc. It's a fairly entertaining 70's organ-driven rock album, and I probably would have enjoyed it more if the label was upfront with their description of the music.

Amazing drum licks. You have got to hear a true recording to believe what these guys can do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Warlord puts the "heavy" in "heavy metal!", March 23, 1999
This review is from: Warlord (Audio CD)
The only thing you'll find disappointing about this CD is that there are only 4 songs on it! I'm amazed at how huge Warlord sounds. I've seen them live, and even with only 3 members (drums, bass, guitar) they are still completely heavy. We're talkin' walls of guitars, thunderous drums, and screaming vocals. Try Warlord in the morning as a substitute for caffeine! With sheer passion, their music expresses their belief in God. This is a "must buy" for head-bangers young and old.
