Futuristic,action,betrayal,possessive,simplicity,romance; you can find all of this in this movie .

A lot of people like to rag on this movie and it certainly has its faults but I remember seeing this in the theater back in 1982 when I was 13 and liking it a lot. Of course now the faults are more obvious to me but--for what it is- this is certainly the best of the films to come out and try to capitalize on the worldwide success of The Road Warrior. The set up is something that will sound chillingly and ominously familiar to anyone alive today and--with a few of the more outlandishly cartoony elements removed--this could have been a near classic. As it is its an ejoyable romp for those youngsters out there who haven't seen everything (twice) and those of you more "mature" folks who don't mind a little cheese with your saturday matinee heroics.

I enjoyed this, not as violently explosive as Mad Max, but same type of premise. The good vs evil is predictable, but some of the side kick characters are fun to watch on both sides.
Bad guys pillage a peaceful colony trying to survive after the "great wars" and of course the hero, Hunter-in a dedicated performance by Michael Beck, comes to the rescue. He has a great motorcycle and his portrayal of a warrior who just wants to be left alone, is surprisingly caring and human. There is enough action and explosions and a twist or two to keep things interesting.
Get a bowl of popcorn and enjoy-I did.

Also known as simply "battletruck" it shows all of the qualities of a great cult classic - so sit back and enjoy.
