Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review
The Warlords III titles--Reign of Heroes and Darklords Rising--from Red Orb don't often get the same attention and accolades as some other strategy games, but they are without question two of the finest computer games on the market. In Prima's book on Darklords Rising, you'll actually get a comprehensive strategy guide for both games, complete with detailed walkthroughs for every short and long campaign. The book also offers a helpful look into the workings of the Warlords III artificial intelligence (so that you know how your computer opponents think and react) and it discusses methods for building more powerful armies and for completing good quests (and avoiding bad ones). The game's complex diplomatic features are fully explained, and the back of the book contains an extensive table of artifacts to be found in the game. If you haven't yet tried one of the Warlords III games, make sure you do so soon. And when you do, you just might want to have this guide around to help in your conquests. --Michael Ryan

5.0 out of 5 stars Please fix the code on this! It only runs on Windows 98 or lower, October 10, 2007

I totally love this game! I have kept an older computer just so I can play this game. A patch would be nice. The magical elements of the game are wild! I bought this again becuse it was very cheap and I wanted a backup for something I truly love. Great strategy and some RPG. It is simplistic as far as graphics are concerned but that should be easy to fix. I have played this game until 5 AM more than once. It is the old wargamer "just one more turn please!"
