Warm Front,

The world seems so unfair when talents like Billy Joe Walker Jr. can create such superb music and yet go relatively unknown. If you like Lee Ritenour (as I do), you'll definitely like Billy Joe (though they are distinctive). I have three CDs by Walker and am on the lookout for more. Warm Front is a collection of pieces that are accessible yet interesting on the 2nd or the 20th playing. Everything Walker does with his guitar just seems to work, and each piece moves ahead with an ease that belies it's origionality. This is jazz with an "island flavor" and just a splash of rock licks to keep your attention. "Luis" is definitely the best cut, but they are all guitar gems with a cool and natural purity. Simply great music!

Billy Joe Jr. is a great guitarist. Started out doing studio work and plays with and studied with Chet Atkins. Great licks. Well worth discovering. I've talked with his Dad, nice people.

One of the best guitarists around today. Wish there was more of his work out to be had. A great session artist that deserves to be noticed in his own right.

This is one of my mainstay favorite albums. Not saying much without qualification, I know, but I keep it on the "play any time" CD pile along with "Time Out" by Dave Brubeck, "Symphony Fantastic" by Berlioz, "Old faces, Old places" by Joe Sample, "Aja-Steely Dan", "Crash" by Dave Mathews band, "Concert for mandolin and flute" by Vivaldi, "Closer than they appear" by Sara K., and many others. I'm not sure I can give it a better recomendation than that. This is an album that you will never get tired of listening to, no matter how often you listen to it.

This is my favorite album. The guitar playing is superb and the vocals are great. I have 500 CDs of all types of music and this is the one I play most often.

Must have if you enjoy warm, full guitar sounds to relax by. The album puts you in mind of the warm gulf breezes on a sunny sping day.
