A Gem!,
By Dana J Larson (Kansas City, Missouri USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Warm & Tender (Audio CD)
I first fell in love with "My Ship" when I saw the video on VH1 in 1994. "Warm & Tender" became my every-mood favorite. During a recent move my beloved CD was damaged and I have been unable to find a replacement. Please bring back this gem to those of us who already treasure it and to those of us who have yet to uncover the treasure.

This CD is as wonderful as "Long Ago and Far Away", of which I have bought at a minimum, a dozen copies for gifts. Please tell them to re-release "Warm and Tender" again!

A new side of Charlie Watts we never saw before! Refreshing and sincere; the epitamy of mellow!

What love sounds like.,

This CD is fantastic. I would say it's as close to perfect as a recording of this material could come. These songs certainly helped to fuel the baby boom, and this recording of them could fuel another.

I saw the video for "My Ship" and found Bernard Fowler to be just stunning. And the music is definitely mood setting - makes you fall in love with love again. I was lucky enough to hear them perform a few years ago.

Ihave been searching for this cd for over a year now. I heard this cd in 1995, and fell in love with it. I had a copy on cassette, and lost that. I Have not been able to find it anywhere. This music just puts me in a place that becomes peaceful wherever I am. Please bring this cd back in print.

My all-time favorite! If you don't have it - get it!,

This is the perfect jazz album - if not the perfect album, period. Great vocals and arrangement underscored by fantastic strings and horns combined with understated drumwork as the album just flows beautifully. Although the songs are mostly (entirely?) covers, this album will redefine the way you think these songs should be performed.
If I could only keep one album out of my entire collection - this would be it! This is a must have!

Amazon must lose the picture of Placido Domingo-- this disc is just as billed "Warm and Tender" love songs, laments, and late night musings-- a trip back to the heyday of Manhattan and times when love is in the heart-- someday, someone will have the wisdom to put it back in print

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I bought this wanting to hear Charlie Watts play jazz. It is really a soft (warm and tender) crooner type of album featuring the vocalist. It's probably OK if that's what you like, but it's not my cup of tea.
