This is a wonderful robe; I agree with everything mentioned in other reviews (except for the feather leakage...not a problem I have noticed.)However: I bought a Small; it fit perfectly until I washed it (gentle cycle, cold water, tumble dried on low) and it shrank up to be too short in length and sleeves and too tight across the shoulders. I love it so much that I am going to buy a Medium and give the Small away.

I don't do dry cleaning, and I wear the robe enough so that it needs washing more than twice a year(!). So choose your size carefully if you plan to machine wash it.

Bought this for my wife for Christmas and the other 3 star reviewer is right, it leaks. Not badly but steadily, at least, so far. My experience is that all down products leak a little at first but this seems more than what I'd consider normal. It is especially noticeable in the areas that take weight, like the shoulders.

But she says it is very warm. Another issue is the length. I bought her a small (she is 5 foot 3) she struggles to go up stairs because it is kind of long. We'll see after the first dry cleaning if that changes.

I'll update: it has almost stopped leaking, so I'll up it to 4 stars. Outstanding robe, at least for your heating bill.

2010 update: third winter and the thing looks nearly like the day it was bought. Has been dry cleaned a couple of times, no leakage whatsoever now. Just upped it to 5 stars. My wife loved it during the freezing weather we were just through. In the mid teens, no power for days, struggled to keep the house warm.

Kind of made me wish I had one.

2012 update, still going strong. For the price, I just don't think you can beat this.

2013 update, STILL going strong. Winter is winding down and we are off to the warm. She has worn it every winter morning for 6 years.

2014 update. Just returned from Palm Springs, this is the first thing my wife put on when she changed out of her traveling clothes.

Pretty amazing.

I received this robe as a gift and had high hopes for it. Out of the box, it was warm and cushy on. It's kind of like wearing a lightweight sleeping bag. The sleeves are full-length to the wrist, and they roll up easily and stay put when I'm cooking or otherwise using my hands a lot. The robe is full-length to the ankle. My only gripe is that the robe leaks feathers, at the seams and right through the 300-threads-per-inch fabric. Our sofa and rugs are now coated with a light dusting of feathers, presumably hypoallergenic but still annoying. The feathers poking through on the inside of the robe itch my skin. If this robe had higher-thread-count fabric, it'd be perfect, but unfortunately I can give it only 3 stars. FYI, the instructions say dry cleaning is recommended though machine washing twice a year is okay (?).

I purchased the burgundy color because it had the feel of cozy winter. The down used is ample for the mid-west climate in winter. Having lived in the northeast, I feel it would provide the warmth needed there, too. It definitely is long enough (I'm 5'7") and provides my ankles with cozy warmth. Admittedly, I wear fleece socks with Acorn's boiled wool Fiesta slippers, but I'm cozy when outside in the cold feeding my birds and cleaning my birdbath in the morning. No more high heating bills with THIS robe.

The robe recommends two dry cleanings a year. Since I just purchased it, I haven't dry-cleaned it as yet nor have I washed it. But since I am proportionate to my height, I got the XL size; I'd rather have too much cloth than not enough. I feel the XL is just right. If you're on the heavier side, I'd recommend a XXL because it may shrink a bit when washed.

The sleeves on this robe stay rolled-up when I'm doing dishes yet roll down amply enough to give me warmth when needed.

It arrived ON TIME for Christmas and packaged with great care. Thanks, Warm Things, on a superior product. I will definitely order more from Warm Things in the future.

this down robe from warm things was the best present i've ever given anyone -- my girlfriend absolutely loves this robe! i was a little nervous getting it since she's very picky about clothing, but she really likes it and says its very well made.

guys -- forget the candy and flowers -- this is a great present for your girlfriend or wife thats both practical and romantic -- she'll be thinking warm thoughts of you every time she puts it on.

I'm a big fan of down and had wanted a down robe for years but always assumed they'd be big, bulky, and make me look like 2-ton tessie. Not so!! This robe is not only very warm, it's also breathable, really comfortable, and also attractive. My old man used to call my last warm robe (fleece) 'man-repellant'. That one is now in the salvation army box and has been replaced with this one -- warmer, more comfortable, and not man-replellant. True to size.. For me, that means roomy, as I hate constricting clothes. I wear a size 14 and bought a size medium, as recommended by their size chart. Fits great and I wouldn't want it any bigger. Great price during the summer sale.

I'm posting this because when I first received mine as a gift, there was no way to post reviews. My robe is over 10 years old. I've never dry-cleaned it, always washed in cold water, gentle cycle. I'm about to order a new one. I hope that the quality hasn't declined because I've loved this robe. Yes, it is from the same manufacturer, Warm Things.

Our house is drafty and chilly and every winter I tote around my down blanket. But not anymore! Received this robe for Christmas and I haven't left the house since. It covers to the floor keeping my feet warm (I'm 5'4")and the sleeves can be folded back if too long and it is still comfortable and looks nice.

A fantastic, quality product, highly recommended!

This robe is perfect. It's great to snuggle in to while watching TV. I bought a medium. I'm 5ft 4 in and weigh 115. It fits me now but, even if it shrinks some as people have warned, it will still fit. Also, I haven't really had any problem with it losing feathers like some other people describe. I'm really glad that I bought this. The only "problem" is that I was surprised that the color was exactly what was pictured in the photo. The color is called "Burgundy" but the photo makes it look "deep rose". For some reason, I though the photo was "off" and I expected the robe to be the color of red wine. It wasn't. Still, the rose color is nice too and the picture didn't lie!

I am very disappointed in the down fill in the Warm Things Down Robe. It has very little down fill so naturally is not a warm robe. Definitely is not what I was expecting from the description. The robe seems to be well made, it just has minimal down fill. Don't buy this robe and expect to get a robe to keep you warm, just a nice robe to wear.

I recently purchased a down robe from another online source (Lands End). The Lands End robe is a bit shorter than the Warm Things but far exceeds it in warmth. If you want warmth check out Lands End.
