4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful!, June 30, 2006
This review is from: Warm Up to Wool: Projects to Hook and Stitch (That Patchwork Place) (Paperback)
I just ordered this book, as I have been desperately trying to find instructional manuals on working with wool...especially in the primitive folk art style. I bought this one with high hopes & was not disappointed! There are some fantastic projects, & the beginning of the book tells you all about purchasing wool, wool weights & types, preparing wool, dying wool, etc.

There are a couple of corny projects (in my opinion), but overall, this is a fantastic addition to my library!

Great book - I've been looking for some penny rug projects and this book had the best I've found with great patterns and directions. Highly recommend.

This book has some of the cutest patterns. Even some rug hooking projects I'm getting interested in learning. What attracted me to this book were the two sheep project designs on the front of this book. I'm getting ready to use one of the sheep patterns to applique on a cover I sewed together for my Spinning Wheel.
My next project from this book will be the Penny-Rub that's photographed in the front and sometimes in the future, one of the hooked rugs. I love this book and the wait was well worth it. Thanks for making it possible for me to get this book, Amazon!

This is a great book for beginners like myself. I will definitely make some of the projects in the book as well as design some of my own.

Great explanations and info on wool; penny rug stitches, rug hooking start to finish, it's a great all-round "wool" book. Each project is rug hooked AND wool appliqued!
