4.0 out of 5 stars Tight jazz piano trio with guest Joe Henderson, November 18, 2003
By
This review is from: Warm Valley (Audio CD)
Pianist Louis Scherr, bassist Tommy Cecil and drummer Tony Martucci form a tight jazz trio that performs melodic originals and three standards. Cellist Susan Kelly guests as the lead voice on the classical "Sarabande." However, the main attraction is the presence of Joe Henderson on five tracks, which elevates this session to another level. Highly recommended to mainstream jazz piano fans and vital to Joe Henderson completists.
