Mark F. Moran is Senior Editor, Antiques and Collectibles Books, for Krause Publications and is the author of more than 25 titles on antiques and collectibles. Moran has held positions as contributing editor to Antique Trader Magazine, editor of Antique Review East Magazine, and as producer of Atlantique City, an nationally-recognized antique show held in Atlantic City, N.J. In addition to his editorial duties, Moran is an appraiser for Collect.Com Auctions and is a host and speaker for several Collect.Com seminars.

More About the Author

I am the former senior editor for antiques and collectibles books with Krause Publications in Iola, Wis. I conduct community events that involve appraisal of antiques, collectibles and decorative arts in the upper Midwest.

Since launching my Antique Appraisal Events in the summer of 2011, the response has been very gratifying. Libraries and historical societies from around the Midwest have embraced the concept and scheduled events, and institutions in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota and Upper Michigan have also expressed interest.

I have been a contributing editor for Antique Trader magazine. I also served as editor of Antique Review East magazine; as producer of Atlantique City, an antique show held twice a year at the Atlantic City, N.J., Convention Center; and as editorial director of F+W Publications' Antiques Group.

I am the author or co-author of more than 25 books on antiques and collectibles, including the 800-page annual Warman's Antiques & Collectibles Price Guide 2012, the 45th edition.

The 45th edition of Warman's Antiques & Collectibles Price Guide is better than ever, and brings a fresh, 21st-century perspective to the collecting world.

This is without doubt the most beautiful annual price guide on the market today. I have been a loyal reader of the Warman's line of books and have seen this title evolve from a black-and-white book to a gorgeous feast of antiques and collectibles. To call it a price guide is not accurate. This is a book to savor, to read, and to enjoy the lavish images and lovely design. Page after page of this 800-page book are filled with delights big and small. My personal favorite is the chapter on illustration art featuring an introduction by Noah Fleisher who works for Heritage Auctions. The section on Halloween collectibles is also great fun. I saw author Mark Ledenbach on the Martha Stewart Show and he knows his stuff. Whether you are a collector or simply a lover of fine and fun things, you will enjoy this book.

This is a great book to begin with, but even a beginner who already has specific interests will need more detailed, extensive info. There's simply no way to put it all in one book.
