Up-To-Date, Year 2000 Depression Glass Reference Work,
This review is from: Warman's Depression Glass: A Value & Identification Guide (Warman's Depression Glass, 2000) (Paperback)
This brand new, 256 page soft bound volume contains over 150 black and white photos and more than 400 full color, large, sharp photos. It covers more than 150 of the most popular Depression glass patterns and offers more than 10,000 up-to-date values !! The book's layout is nice, with very large colorful headings in each section. There's a good introduction to the collectible, and interesting and useful company time-lines, color time-lines, resources, references, color identification guide, shape guide and thumbnail guide. These tools will help you locate the things you seek. Patterns and items range from Adam, American Fostoria, Cloverleaf, Dewdrop and Fire King, to Petalware, Pineapple, Queen Mary, Radiance, Waterford and Windsor. The book is designed to be useful for the novice as well as the expert. Ellen Schroy is truly an expert when it comes to antique glassware. This updated book has a lot to offer depression glass enthusiasts. Add it to your collectibles library. You'll find it easy-to-use and fascinating.

The one reference that I keep coming back to! Irreplaceable,
By Louis (Winston-Salem, North Carolina) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Warman's Depression Glass: A Value & Identification Guide (Serial) (Paperback)
Ellen Schroy has produced a depression glass reference that is easy to use, concise and very accurate. The graphic representations of the various glass patterns make identification of closely associated patterns very easy. Unlike similar books that have nice pictures that are impossible to determine a pattern from (Florence is a classic example), the approach taken by Ms. Schroy is one that is quite usable. I higly recommend it and use it almost daily. I only wish it were updated to current prices.
