Contains a conspicuously hidden treasure, December 19, 2000
This review is from: Warman's Glass (3rd ed) (Paperback)
They say the best place to hide something is to put it in put it in plain sight. You read the dry description of this book without seeing the significance. Yes there are pictures and prices. That is what the book is for. However the reason I bought this book, was because I was coming near ground zero. What I found of value was a description of the different class companies overlapping the description of the different types of glass. This shows how designers are sort of incestuous is removed from one glass company to another. Also it is interesting to see which class companies bought which collapsed companies in which year. It is also in intriguing to find the chemical makeup of the different types of glass. This part of a book arms me with a crater base of knowledge to do my own pricing. Personally, I haven't found any the pieces by buying prices this book. I have found the company's that made the pieces that I have a bought in this book. That alone is worth five stars.
