Consider yourself warned,

This review is from: Warmer (Reis) (Audio CD)
Be forwarned, this is NOT a NEW Randy VanWarmer CD...instead, it is a re-issure of his first CD, Warmer. However, I think it may be remastered. While the CD is good (and includes the original version of his biggest hit, Just When I Needed You Most), you might be better off with the Anthology, Sun, Moon, and Stars, or the slickly produced Third Child.

One Of The Most Underrated Artists Of Soft Rock,
This review is from: Warmer (Vinyl)
After Randy Vanwarmer released this album and the hit single, "Just When I Needed You The Most", he completely disappeared from the radio. "Warmer" is an essential Soft Rock album from 1979 that reflects the sounds of artists like Bread, Air Supply, Christopher Cross and Seals & Crofts. All of the tracks are worth listening to and it's really surprising that there was never really a CD format to be widely released. Track Listing: 1) Losing Out On Love [3:03] 2) Just When I Needed You Most [3:59] 3) Your Light [4:03] 4) Gotta Get Out Of Here [3:02] 5) Convincing Lies [3:34] 6) Call Me [4:26] 7) Forever Loving You [3:12] 8) Deeper And Deeper [3:42] 9) I Could Sing [3:14] 10) The One Who Loves You [4:37]

Surprise! Surprise! What a Great Album!,
By
This review is from: Warmer (Audio CD)
Way back when I was barely in my teens, there was a hit called "Just When I Needed You Most" that had lots of airplay on the radio where I was growing up and although I thought it was okay as far as sugary pop songs go, I didn't really give it a second thought and had always assumed the singer, Randy Vanwarmer was just another one of the many one hit wonders that came and went in those days. And so you can imagine my surprise when I took a punt on this disc and discovered that every song on this baby is just brilliant! This mini lp sleeve replica design is very well put together (no stingeing on the quality of cardboard) and is in fact one of the best mlps packaging that I've ever seen but most importantly the remastering is brilliant making the sound quality just a joy to behold. This album sounds really fresh and despite this being a 1979 release, this sounds just as fresh today as it did way back when. All the lyrics in both English and Japanese are included as well. It's clear when you listen to this album that Randy Vanwarmer was a truly gifted songwriter. Unfortunately, he passed on not too long after this release leaving us with a sense of what might have been. At least we are left with a very worthy legacy of songs on what must be one of my all time surprise cd buys ever. If you are into pop in the vein of a Rupert Holmes or a Stephen Bishop, you will not be disappointed with this baby. Clearly the best version of this album that is out there at the moment and this comes highly recommended.
