Amazon.com Review

This free-standing Hyde Park drying rack and towel warmer from Warmrails adds luxury to your daily routines and cuts down on daily chores. Designed to get towels deliciously toasty, the rack also helps keep them dry and fresh, reducing the need for laundering and the overall presence of mildew. Its dry electric Filatherm element runs without the use of oil or liquid and uses less energy than a typical light bulb. Styled like a ladder with a subtle curve to the rungs, the rack features a handsome chrome finish. Warmrails recommends running it 24 hours a day but includes a discreet on/off switch for when it is not needed. Both UL- and CUL-listed, the rack plugs in with a standard three-prong power cord and can easily be transported from the bathroom to the laundry room or nursery. Measuring 24-1/8 by 13-3/4 by 39 inches, it requires minimal assembly and carries a one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard

Product Description

The Hyde Park is a large freestanding unit. Great for the entire family. Keeps your towels dry, warm, and fresh all year long. This will help turn your ordinary bathroom into the ultimate luxury/spa experience. Is designed to run continuously 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week. It's Filatherm dry element is reliable and energy efficient, using about the same power as your average lightbulb. Great for year-round use! Really helps draw moisture away during the hot and humid months. Keeps your towels from smelling musty. Also helps eliminate mold and mildew growth. Quicker heat up time, more effective drying and no worrying about oils/liquids leaking from the unit. Great for drying delicates, hand washables, swimsuits and warming baby blankets and bedding. Product reaches optimum temperature within 30-40 minutes, but you need a good 2-3 hours for the heat to build up in the fibers of the towels. Recommend leaving towels on rack overnight before initial use. Make sure to layer your towels (do not weave throughout the bars). Remember this is a low energy device; your towels will be warm, dry and fresh for each use (towels will not be hot like coming out of a tumble dryer). Plugs into a standard 110-120V outlet. Dimensions 24 1/4"W x 13 3/4"D x 39"H. UL Listed. Minimal assembly required.

4.0 out of 5 stars A nice warmer, but watch your electric bill!, May 26, 2005
This review is from: Warmrails Hyde Park Freestanding Towel Warmer and Drying Rack, Chrome (Kitchen)
There's nothing nicer than a warm, dry, towel. And in the summer this heater keeps towels from getting musty so quickly. But, our electric bill went up $40 per month and we didn't know why....until we unplugged the towel warmer. Now we plug it in long enough to dry the towels, or to heat them while we shower. Then we turn it off again. Other than being an electricity hog, this is a great product, and we enjoy the feeling of being pampered and comforted with heated towels.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Handy to Heat/Dry, October 7, 2004
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Warmrails Hyde Park Freestanding Towel Warmer and Drying Rack, Chrome (Kitchen)
I live in Southern California and I really appreciate this unit. My husband and I had an apartment in Paris that had a great towel warmer. It's hard to describe the European warmer, but it had more surface area. My complaint with the few units I've seen here in the United States is that they have rungs instead of a tile-like surface heating area, and therefore aren't as efficient and don't do as good a job of heating/drying. However, given that the European units don't seem to be available here, this unit works well enough. We use it to warm/dry our towels, dry swimsuits, etc. without having to start up the clothes dryer. It's also very nice to have a warmish towel when you step out of the shower.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy and Functional, January 24, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Warmrails Hyde Park Freestanding Towel Warmer and Drying Rack, Chrome (Kitchen)
I've been using the Hyde Park Freestanding Towel Warmer and Drying Rack for about one month. It appears to be very well-built - it is sturdy and does not tip easily. Towels don't get nearly as warm as they would in a clothes dryer (a clothes dryer uses far more energy). However, it dries them thoroughly, allowing them to absorb more water far more quickly. I put a timer (about $10 at Lowes) on the receptacle, keeping the rack energized only a few hours before and after normal towel use times. This should minimize the impact on the electricity bill.
