Recently remodeled our Michigan basement, enlarging and upgrading our bathroom. Towel warmer not only delivers warmed towel but also heats the room a bit. Like the extra towel bar as well. Did encounter a hitch initially when the towel warmer wasn't assembled correctly but Amazon's Return Department was pleasant and efficient. Our towel warmer makes getting out of bed a little easier.

I first looked at this hotel-style towel rack because it has room to store many towels which is a need we have in our very small bathroom that has no linen closet, not because it heats towels. But now that we have it, I think I'm spoiled on heated towels and it would be hard to give it up. The towels that get stored in the middle are all warm throughout and on the top rail only the towels that actually touch the shelf are warm. The hanging rod below does not heat up. One negative is that I'm not a big fan of looking at the cord, though I'm sure an electrician could hard-wire it in. I did a lot of internet shopping before buying this here, and this is by far the best price out there.

I installed 2 of those shelves in my bathrooms. The polished brass looks very good. It work relatlively well as a towel warmer. However, it does not dry towels very well. This is more a practical issue. A shelf is very good to place already dry towels to be warmed, but it is a bad design to places towels to dry. For me, now it is too late, but if you want your towels not only warm, but also dry, I would recomend you to buy one of the stand up models instead. Those should work fine.

If you're short of bathroom space as many are this unit is for you. As you can see it takes a minimum amount of space to do everything that a standing rack can do.

Warm towels on a cold winter's day is a treat and with this no longer a luxury.

For some reason someone at our house wasn't overjoyed to be met with a wet pair of hose or other lingerie items when stepping into the shower. That person patiently(?)explained to me any number of times that a shower bar was not a clothes line.

The bars on this unit can be used for drying, and he's singing in the sh0wer again.

This is really great. Have never owned a towel warmer and really didn't know what to expect. At first we didn't think it was working well because we always threw our towel over the shower door and dried off in the shower. But...we have discovered that although you think the towel is not warm, when you wrap yourself in it, you realize how warm it really is and how good it feels. My husband uses a washcloth and puts the wet cloth on top of his towel and I wrap my hair in a towel and lay in on top of my towel and they both dry completely. It doesn't take all day for the towels to dry either. Sometimes there is more than one shower a day taken and the towels are always dry and warm. Also your towels always feels fluffy and not mashed. It does have an on and off switch located on the shelf. You have to get creative on hiding the cord but it can be done. I called one of our stores and they only carry high end towel warmers and said I shouldn't expect it to dry the towels and they priced me $2000.00. Needless to say that didn't go over well. This warmrails will dry and keep your towels and washcloths warm We love it!!!

This towel warmer does everything that its description tells of. It keeps your towels warm (not hot) and dries out damp ones.

I havent used it for anything like drying out clothing but I am sure it would do the job nicely. I wonder if some of the complaints about the product have to do with the humidity in the area of the rack. My rack is away from the shower/tub and keeps everything warm and toasty. If the unit were right next to or above a tub or shower it may interfere with the warming process..just a thought.

Do not buy this drying shelf! You will be spoiled and miss it when you shower on the road. I love having a dry, warm towel when I step out of the shower. When I am done, I just fold up the towel, put it on the shelf, and it is ready the next day. Easy to install and sturdy to boot.
A bonus- there is a switch with a pilot light to turn it off and on. Why you would turn it off? Maybe if you live in Phoenix?
Revised 01.21.11- Unit has developed a non-repairable short in the heating element! Got a nice shock while standing in the tub and grabbing a towel. Oh well, it still works as a towel shelf and rack after I cut the cord off.

I love having a warm towel to wrap around me after I open the shower door and that cool air hits me! Oh yes, it is nice.
I will tell you, you have to mess with it to figure out how to fold/arrange your towels correctly so they warm all of the way thru. I have found I can put 6 (not the huge towels) 2 stacks per side on the mid shelf and a few more on top.
The top shelf of course does not heat the towels as well as the middle because it isn't exposing another element. But, for the top I like to fold my wet towel length wise after I shower for it to dry out. I also like to put my robe on top while I am showering to get heated.
It isn't really hot when you don't have towels stuffed in it. I accidentally grabbed the bar and it was hot enough for me to yank my hand back, so be careful. I gave this item a 5 star rating because I think it delivers on what it advertises, it warms the towels well, it is functional since it holds a great deal of towels (and you can hang your hand towels from the lower rack, that is not heated) and it is attractive.
Make sure your towels are folded and not intertwined in the rails as this will not heat them. The more towels you have in there the warmer they are.

In a small bathroom, this rack fits great in the otherwise dead space above the toilet tank.

When we received the shelf it was broken and we contacted Amazon and got it replaced right away without difficulty. The second one arrived in good shape and has been installed. It does what it says it will do. The towels are warm and the unit seems to keep the bathroom warmer than it has been in the past. This room is small and does not have a built in heater. While the shelf is a bit larger than we anticipated, it is a good size for the towels and keeps them warm and ready for use. It is a welcome addition to our house.
