Using less power than an average light bulb and certainly less power than running a dryer, this freestanding chrome rack is designed to stay on continuously to keep towels dry and warm. After some minimal assembly, the Prima is ready to use and plugs into any 120-volt outlet with a seven-foot cord. An on/off switch on the cord is accessed easily. The rack's gleaming, single-pipe construction, curved into four bends, adds a contemporary look to any bathroom.
There's nothing quite as luxurious as having a warm towel ready after a shower or bath. By drying towels more quickly than if they are left to air-dry, the rack helps eliminate mildew and dampness that can cause odors in the bathroom. It's Filatherm dry element is reliable and energy efficient, using about the same power as your average lightbulb. Great for year-round use! Quicker heat up time, more effective drying and no worrying about oils/liquids leaking from the unit. Great for drying delicates, hand washables, swimsuits and warming baby blankets and bedding. Product reaches optimum temperature within 30-40 minutes, but you need a good 2-3 hours for the heat to build up in the fibers of the towels. Recommend leaving towels on rack overnight before initial use. Make sure to layer your towels (do not weave throughout the bars). Remember this is a low energy device; your towels will be warm, dry and fresh for each use (towels will not be hot like coming out of a tumble dryer). Plugs into a standard 110-120V outlet. I don't know why people are knocking this product.. It's fabulous. Maybe these other (not so friendly review's people) weren't using it correctly. After reading the instruction manual, I realized it's supposed to be left on 24/7 and not to be turned on 20 minutes before jumping in the shower. It's not designed to make your towels Hot, but it definitely dries them and if you have a good amount of layers it warms them nicely. Since I've been using it, I have also noticed how my towels are much more fresh smelling. I don't need to launder my towels as much. People, it's $39.99 you can't beat this price!! You want Dry, Fresh, Warm towels (and to feel like your being pampered).. then buy this product,you wont be dissapointed!

After running an extension cord from an outlet across the room to the tub so I could reach this warmer when I got out of the tub, I was dismayed to find that the only part of the towel that got warm was the thin band that actually touched the rail. The rest of the towel was room temperature. I tried folding my pjs up several times to get heated, and left them on the rack for awhile and same thing - small bands of warmth but not much. This product is not worth the trouble.

I got one of these through Gold Box, and it works as advertised (heats up a towel, or better yet several towels, if you put them there for a few hours). However, all of the outlets in our bathrooms are close to the sinks, which makes it really hard to place the drying rack somewhere useful.If you have a (presumably GFCI) outlet on a wall in your bathroom close to where you'd get out of the tub, where a cord wouldn't block access to a cabinet or create a tripping hazard, this is a pretty cool product. Watch out that you don't touch the heated surfaces directly -- you won't really get a burn, but it doesn't feel all that good.
