5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Item!
I don't know why people are knocking this product.. It's fabulous. Maybe these other (not so friendly review's people) weren't using it correctly. After reading the instruction manual, I realized it's supposed to be left on 24/7 and not to be turned on 20 minutes before jumping in the shower. 1.0 out of 5 stars Good idea, but doesn't work. Too much trouble.
After running an extension cord from an outlet across the room to the tub so I could reach this warmer when I got out of the tub, I was dismayed to find that the only part of the towel that got warm was the thin band that actually touched the rail. The rest of the towel was room temperature. I tried folding my pjs up several times to get heated, and left them on the rack...

After reading the instruction manual, I realized it's supposed to be left on 24/7 and not to be turned on 20 minutes before jumping in the shower. It's not designed to make your towels Hot, but it definitely dries them and if you have a good amount of layers it warms them nicely. Since I've been using it, I have also noticed how my towels are much more fresh smelling. I don't need to launder my towels as much. People, it's $39.99 you can't beat this price!! You want Dry, Fresh, Warm towels (and to feel like your being pampered).. then buy this product, you wont be dissapointed!

The rest of the towel was room temperature. I tried folding my pjs up several times to get heated, and left them on the rack for awhile and same thing - small bands of warmth but not much. This product is not worth the trouble.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but where do you put it?, December 3, 2004

I got one of these through Gold Box, and it works as advertised (heats up a towel, or better yet several towels, if you put them there for a few hours). However, all of the outlets in our bathrooms are close to the sinks, which makes it really hard to place the drying rack somewhere useful.

If you have a (presumably GFCI) outlet on a wall in your bathroom close to where you'd get out of the tub, where a cord wouldn't block access to a cabinet or create a tripping hazard, this is a pretty cool product. Watch out that you don't touch the heated surfaces directly -- you won't really get a burn, but it doesn't feel all that good.

I like these warmrails in the bathroom for towels - do not feel they would work for drying swimwear, as they state. You must keep the towels layered on them at all times, with the unit on. I bought this item for my sister and she did not like it - no place to put in bathroom and electrical outlet to plug into. A flop for a present.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected, November 9, 2009

Based on other reviews, I was not expecting much out of this product, but I have been pleasantly surprised. We have had an incredibly wet year and I was tired of our bath towels not drying at all over a 24 hour period. I bought this hoping it would help a little. Ever since getting this, our towels and wash cloths dry out and they are nice and warm when we first remove them from the rack. We have been putting wash cloths on the lower bars and then 2 towels over the top bars. It was a good purchase.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wish it were wireless..., April 5, 2007

Then again, I wish everything were wireless. I hate cords. But for this product in particular, the cord is a nuisance for our bathroom. We have a smaller bathroom, and our only outlets are on the wall above the sink counter top. There isn't a good place to set the rack without running the cord across the bathroom floor. Initially I thought I could just keep the rack hidden nicely behind the door, just a short distance from the electrical outlet, but the "feet" that make this rack stand are too thick for the door to slide over, and too long so the door could only open half way. Needless to say, we don't keep this rack in our bathroom...it's in our bedroom instead. If you have a large bathroom with electrical outlets either on the floor or low on the wall, this product would work quite nice. Or, I have since seen warmrails models that can mount on a wall, which would have been a better option for us. Don't expect this rack to give you nice hot towels or clothes, but it will make them slightly warm and nice and dry. If you're just doing a small load of laundry, you will save energy by using the drying rack instead of the clothes dryer, and it's much quicker than air-drying!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, April 8, 2010

There were so many mixed reviews about this product that I almost didn't order it. I saved the box just in case I needed to return it. This product is completely under-rated! It's fabulous! It not only dries our towels completely, it warms them really nicely too. Yes, they are warmer where they touch the metal (duh!) but it's not like the rest of the towel is cold. It even warms and dries two layers of towels. I don't know what people were expecting for $80 but I was pretty impressed.

This is a replacement towel warmer for one we have had for years. It is lighter weight but does the job. Very good value for the price. The cord is a little shorter then the more expensive one I had before, but not a real issue.

It definitely does the job.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nothing better than warm towels on a cold day!, January 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Warmrails Premier Freestanding Towel Warmer and Drying Rack, Chrome (Kitchen)
We originally bought this product for our bath towels and it was nice to have warm towels on a cold day. I feel it doesn't warm the whole towel though, mostly the part that makes contact with the rack. It does dry it very well though. Another downfall is you have to make sure there is an outlet near your shower or else you will have an unsightly cord exposed to reach where you want it. Since we moved, our bathroom's outlets are no where near our shower so that's why we now use it to warm our son's bath towels.
