Farewell to clammy wet towels; they're toasty warm now.
Mildew is no longer a problem. And- added bonus- this towel rack also dries delicates and sweaters. "Hang to dry" over a towel- it works beautifully.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice for drying things out, February 24, 2006

These definitely are a high-quality item, and they do actually dry towels and swim suits out nicely, but if you are looking for something that provides a roastingly hot towel for when you get out of the shower, this is not it. It is not the same as getting a hot towel just out of the clothes dryer. But the product itself is worth the money for quality.

Having lived in Europe and New Zealand a warm towel rail is fairly commonplace in most household bathrooms. With winter coming I wanted to find a similar product that would work for our bathroom. And this one did. It was shipped quickly. Easy to install. So far it works as promised with little heat loss when no towels hanging on it and helps keep the bathroom dry and warm as well. I did not hardwire it so the only issue I would have liked is a flat plug rather than standard so I could have snugged it up behind a wall unit. It does get hot to the touch for little ones so I would recommend mounting out of reach for sure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just the right design, January 27, 2009

This towel warmer is exactly what we needed. It's just the right size, works perfectly, uses very little energy and seems sturdy and well-made. We connected it to an outlet via an inexpensive plug timer so that it's only on between 6 AM and 6 PM, meaning that the 70 Watt element is on 12 hours each day, with a consumption of 840 Watt-hours or .84 kWh a day. Where we live that comes to about a nickel a day. That's much cheaper than running the whole-house furnace so that the towels don't mold and stink after only a few days. It's also great to grab a warm towel after a shower! We can easily fit two large bath towels at a time on the rack and they are always bone dry by the time the timer shuts off the unit at 6 PM. My only regret is that we didn't do this years ago.

The towel warmer works nicely. It would be nice if it got the towels a bit warmer, but overall it does a nice job of drying the towels and reducing any smells that may occur due to towels staying damp too long.
I would reccommend this item.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for anybody, February 22, 2007

If you have this one - the days of damp towels are over.
We fit 3 towels on it all the time, folded and by the time we reach for a towel - it's nice and dry and warm :)
I have used the different brand chrome one, that was free-standing and it was getting boiling hot, either because it's different brand or because it's chrome. So I'd get scalded from time to time, and the towels burn a little if folded more than twice, getting the yellow burn marks.
I switched to this one because I was afraid of my son getting scalded as he was getting more mobile.
This one I have in different size in all bathrooms - works great.

5.0 out of 5 stars It works, good temp, November 6, 2009

This gets hot enough to dry the towels but not too hot to where you risk burning yourself.
I would say it does as good a job as possible for what it is. Its obviously not a entire room heater and it doesn't cost $1,000. So I would recommend it if you need one of these. The best use- if you have limited space to hang towels. It actually works better if you double fold the towel, if you did that on a regular holder it would never dry out and mildew. Because of this I use this in our travel trailer since we have very limited space. I can hang multiple towels in the same space and they dry quicker, so I benefit double. Don't expect the towel to be hot though- thats not what this is for. It may be slightly warm in spots, but this is not designed to super heat towels. If thats what you want buy a product designed to do that.
