4.0 out of 5 stars OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH THAT DARN WABBIT, August 23, 2001
This review is from: Warner Brothers Golden Jubilee 24 Karat Collection Elmer Fudd's Comedy Capers [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Warner Brothers had often defied each of their characters in an certain way. In 1985, Warner Brothers created the 24 Karat Golden Jubilee Collection. This tape, Elmer Fudd's Comedy Capers, was not released until one year after the collection was made. This was the 1st tape I purchased from the collection. Arthur Q. Bryan, knew exactly how Elmer sounded. Sadly he was not Elmer anymore, as of 1958. But this Collection marks 8 cartoons, actually seven with Elmer in them.

The Rabbit of Seville, directed by Chuck Jones, was on A Salute to Mel Blanc, an previous tape in the collection, showcase the musical talent of Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd. It reminds me of how poor my barber gives me my hircut. But that is another story. He actually marries Bugs, after an feud over Flowers grown on Elmer's head. - 7 out of 10

Hare Brush- my personal favorite by Friz Freleng, where Elmer flips and thinks he is Bugs. What is so unique, is that it is one of the few cartoons where Bugs turns out the loser. -8 out of 10.

Design For Leaving- by Bob McKimson, has salesman Daffy, showcasing an push-button home, he installed without Elmer's knowledge. Very weird. - 6 out of 10.

Bugs' Bonnets- by Chuck Jones, reflects how hats can change humor in characters uniquely, out of proportion. From Old lady, to Cop, Elmer shows it all in humorous fashion. - 7 out of 10

What's Opera Doc?- My all time favorite cartoon. What I really like about this cartoon is that is never bores me. This is truly Chuck Jones masterpiece. The score of Wagner talents beauty and elegance in Elmer's falling in love, with Bugs. Don't kill the wabbit, but laugh and cry. -10 out of 10

Cat Feud- sadly by Chuck Jones, Elmer Fudd isn't in this. - 2 out of 10. P.S. Warner Brothers did this in a lot of the tapes in the collection.

What's Up Doc?- by Robert McKimson, reflects Bugs rising to stardom on the Vaudeville stage, on Elmer's act. -8 out of 10.

Rabbit Seasoning- by Chuck Jones, an spin-off of Rabbit Fire by Jones, He Doesn't have to shoot you now, he does so. Elmer is torn between rabbit and duck again. This was featured on A Salute to Chuck Jones, also on the collection. - 8 out of 10.

This is an great cartoon collection. I found it vewy funny. Ha Ha Ha Ha.

4.0 out of 5 stars This has "HARE BRUSH" on it!! Wake up, Warner Brothers!!, December 6, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Warner Brothers Golden Jubilee 24 Karat Collection Elmer Fudd's Comedy Capers [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Man oh man! This tape is a very good compilation of shorts, with two not available (yet?) on the 5 volumes of Golden Collection DVD sets that Warner Brothers charges a premium for. These are Hare Brush, and Design For Leaving.
Now, the latter involves Daffy pushing a futuristic home on Elmer; it's quite good, but not a classic.
But Hare Brush...oh MAN! That this hasn't been issued yet by Warners is disgraceful; this is a COMPLETE classic! This is the one-- I hadn't seen it since I was a kid, it's the famous "My Name is Elmer J. Fudd Millionaire, I own a mansion and a yacht" one. Completely hilarious. This is worth getting for this ALONE!
Why hasn't this been released on the expensive DVD collections yet? Another one that's missing from those is one called "Chow Hound", but that ain't on here, so....
The others on here are mostly pretty great; Cat Feud (which has NOTHING to do with Elmer!) is a great one brilliantly designed, involving that cute little kitty that the giant dog LOVES, and will protect against all comers; What's Up Doc? is one of the most famous ones with Bugs and Elmer, with a great theme tune (for lack of a better word); andThe Rabbit Of Seville, hilarious with Bugs as a barber I'd never want to visit!
Great tape.
WAKE UP WARNER BROTHERS!!
