1.0 out of 5 stars Completely Incompatible With SOE, January 10, 2008
This review is from: Matrix Online Game Card (CD-ROM)
I bought this about two months ago with a SOE 90-Day Game card and did not attempt to use this until yesterday, finding out from their support that it is not recognized by Sony Online Entertainment, rendering this card useless.

5.0 out of 5 stars MxO is dead. Time to collect!, February 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Matrix Online Game Card (CD-ROM)
With the shutdown of MxO some game collectors (myself included) have been scrambling to pick up unused/unopened copies of MxO along with other items related to this game.

While the amount of stuff surrounding this title isn't vast, it's interesting to see how far they were going to advertise this game. There was going to be a series of MxO books that never made it past issue #1 (Matrix Online official magazine) The book has interviews from guilds that were in MxO at Beta..it's a unique bit of history that other games lack and the hope that people had for this game is an interestig read.

The strategy guide is one of the bigger ones i've seen. The list of clothing/guns/tools take up more than half the book.

Lastly we get to the game card. Within a year of release, both the game and cards were discontinued due to lack of sales, this is one of five of the fastest discontinues of a major MMO. It was extremely difficult to pick of either without paying through the nose, adding to it's unpopulatity.

I purchased my card through GoHastings. Both the box and card were in fantastic condition and the price more than reasonable. If you're a collector, this is the seller i recommend.
