Book Description

March 15, 1998

Award winning author T. Davis Bunn's latest novel, The Warning concerns Buddy Korda and the decisions he must make. The result of two weeks of nightmares, Buddy begins to make sense of disjoinged images. They meld together like an image projected on a screen coming into focus.

And then, unmistakably, a message.

It is coming. Forty-one days

The message leaves Buddy dazed and confused. He must decide between sharing this message or jeopardizing his job, family and possibly even his life. And who would listen to this horrific prediction about the economic collapse of America? Through this conflict, Buddy cannot avoid God's call on his life. The futures of people he didn't even know-the future of the nation-were at stake.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extermely encouraging, November 10, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Warning (Reluctant Prophet Series #1) (Paperback)
Buddy Korda, an introverted man, is called by God to prophesyto the world about an impending financial collapse in the magnitude ofthe Great Depression. The market is in the best shape that it has ever been, but his visions of the impending disasters are nightmares. "Why would God coose me?", he wonders. (That sounds familiar). He very reluctantly heeds the call and the journey begins. It is a journey that is very compelling from a fictional story standpoint, but even greater is the journey of intense spiritual growth that both he and his wife experience as a result. The book illustrates well the combination of the inner peace that comes through obedience and the exhausting responsibilities that come with this great step of faith. The book is very encouraging by showing how God never abandons His kingdom and how He richly blesses them when they are faithful. It made me examine my own relationship with Christ, which, in my opinion, is what Christian fiction ought to do. I enjoyed it thoroughly. The financial jargon went over my head at times, but otherwise it's a great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spell Binding, June 9, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Warning (Reluctant Prophet Series #1) (Paperback)
This book was riveting with suspense and intrigue. I especially enjoyed the author's knowledge of the financial arena and the spiritual insight into the Bible and how God has worked in the past. I immediately read the follow up book, "The Ultimatum"

5.0 out of 5 stars relevant, June 8, 2000

This review is from: The Warning (Reluctant Prophet Series #1) (Paperback)
This book is a must read for Christians at this turn of the century. The inspiration to follow God's leading in all that he has for us to do and trust Him to provide the strength is the main theme. The exortation to live within our means and be satisfied with what the Lord has blessed us with is the underlying theme. The writing, as always with Bunn, is gripping, hard to put down. I am ignorant of financial jargon, but Bunn even made this part of the book relatively easy to understand. I am a big fan of T. Davis Bunn and this book was up to his usual high standards.
