Glam, bam, thank you ma'am,

This review is from: Warped (Audio CD)
1990's Warped was the second studio album from Chicago's D'Molls, who combined the lipstick & spandex glam metal approach of Poison with the sleazy barroom rock of Faster Pussycat. No real surprises here. If bands like Pretty Boy Floyd, Tigertailz, Vain, and of course Hanoi Rocks turn you on, you'll definitely like what you hear here. I tend to go for the more melodic AOR style (think Bad English or White Lion) than sleaze, so this one didn't do much for me. It's definitely a rockin' album though, and the ballad This Time It's Love would be right at home on one of those "every bad boy has his soft side" hair metal compilations you see advertised on TV.D'Molls called it a day shortly after Warped was released, though I doubt they'd have lasted much past 1992 and the advent of grunge anyway. They resurfaced a few years later with a collection of demos and other rare tracks. The track listing is as follows: 1. My Life 2. Down T'Nothin' 3. Backstage Bombers 4. This Time It's Love 5. Real Love 6. On `n' On 7. The Answer 8. Centerfold Girl 9. Passion 10. Father Time
