This review is from: Warping All by Yourself (Paperback)
Cary Carrett's concise, easy to read and follow instructions for warping a loom without help is all a beginning weaver needs to get off to a great start. Complete with diagrams and step by step description of her method, which works, by the way, this one book provides the solution to the problems which tend to block our enjoyment of weaving. For beginning weavers, it is a must!

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is good for begining as well as advanced weavers, June 29, 1998

This review is from: Warping All by Yourself (Paperback)
Beginers will learn about the set up of a hand loom and more experienced weavers will see the advantages this method of dressing a loom.

This book takes a weaver step by step through the warping of a loom. It is easy to understand and the method discussed works! I have noticed that setting up a project is easier and the results are better.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you weave, you need this book!, December 28, 2004
I never really understood how to correctly warp a loom until I got this book. It's so much easier than I thought and much easier to understand than any other book focusing on warping only. I think it's even better than taking a class because you can read and warp at your own pace without being distracted by someone elses' bad habits or personal preferences.

5.0 out of 5 stars Where there is a warp there is a way, January 18, 2009
I was made aware of this book by Cay Garrett by advertisements in Spinoff magazine. If you are just now diving into the world of weaving this book will get you off the ground with a proven method and help take the mystery out of warping all by yourself "on any loom, any width, any combination of yarns, with even tension."

If you are an old pro then you realize that everyone has their particular tricks or methods and that there is no one best way to warp other than your own hybrid method.

The visual part of this book is hand drawn mono-chrome illustrations that have theory own zoom in displays for precise visual demonstrations.

4.0 out of 5 stars "Warping All By Yourself" by Cay Garrett, January 12, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This text is a good addition to a weaver's library. Its clear & simple directions & diagrams lead you step by step through the complex task of warping a loom. Though I am not new to weaving, I am finding it an excellent help in clearing the cobwebs from my memory after a period of dormancy. The many helpful tips on correcting or avoiding errors makes the purchase cost worthwhile. Originaly published by Interweave Press, this text is, unfortunately, now out of print.
