This publication will help remodelers write better warranties and help them understand their obligations under express and/or limited warranties. It defines and explains various types of warranties and examines issues related to the Magnuson-Moss Act. Warranties and Disclaimers for Remodelers also includes checklists and sample forms for creating limited warranties, for requesting warranty service and for initiating dispute settlement. A chapter by Bob Merz explains the role of warranties in customer service and examines some of the issues remodelers need to cover in their warranties from a customer service viewpoint. The book also describes a local association's cooperative warranty program and the appendix includes a summary of applicable state warranty laws. From Home Builder Press, 1998, 72 pp.
