Bought this in January 2012. Worked really well for about 6 months. After that it stopped charging the battery.. It still powers the laptop but the battery doesnt get charged. First I thought it was a problem with the battery but I have bought a new battery and even that doesnt get charged.

So i notified the customer support and they prompty replaced the product completely hassle free

I bought this AC Adapter Power Supply Charger and Cord a year ago for my Dell Vostro. It's still working as well as a brand new OEM from Dell for a fraction of the price! Bonus...it fits my new Dell Inspiron as well, so I have a back-up handy!

The cord works wonderfully with our Dell Inspiron and was shipped quickly at a reasonable price. Very happy with this purchase.

Bought this with the replacement 9-cell battery. Not OEM, but they work just the same! Nice strong charge, safe and quality product.

This charger lasted for 26 months and cost me $10.49. I suppose that is a fair trade. It had an18 month warranty: go figure.

I can't say the whole experience was hassle free. Within a few months of use one end of the power cord sheath became separated from the plug end. I knew this was not going to end well so I contacted the shipper and promptly received a replacement:)) I would much rather have had the cord not fail in the first place but the customer service regained my support.

The charger continued to work as advertised for 26 months on a daily basis and then promptly failed without warning.

I have a ten year old Dell E1505. Still works, but the charger went out. My computer was dead. Dell sells them for like $45! A new battery was $155! So after reading all of the reviews on Amazon about batteries and chargers, I found the problem. It was the charger. So after reading all of the reviews on chargers, I went with this one. I am so glad I did. It cost just a few dollars more, but was so worth it. It charges the battery and it fits. No problems with it coming out like some other reviews. I think it may have to do with the my model of computer. But hey, I still would have bought it. This is now my 10 year old daughters computer and she is so thrilled to have it back. Thank you Anker and thank you Amazon!

Solid construction, works. Not as pretty as the original ac adapter (dell E1505), and a little bulkier. The feel of the plastic material is a little rougher and cheaper, but that is to be expected of cheap replacement parts. One gripe would be that the plug is polarized (one prong wider), which is silly, because it can be plugged into the adapter housing either way so polarization isn't necessary (as it wasn't on the OEM).

I'll try to update the review as the product ages to say how its performing.

Update 3/16/2012:
It still works just fine. A few small gripes:
(1) The plug that goes into the laptop is just a hair smaller than the dell OEM, so if you are sitting with the laptop on your lap and squirming around a bit it can come out. It is a very slight issue and hardly noticeable.
(2) The "void if removed" sticker is of very poor quality and just fell off.
(3) The velcro strap that wraps around the cord for storage is not long enough to wrap around the whole device. This is very annoying. I miss the old dell adapter as it was smaller and had a nice rubber wrap-around that worked perfectly.

However, the device still appears to be working fine.

Update 10/5/2012:
Still working fine. One more gripe: the sheath of the cable going to the computer has already broken near the adapter housing exposing the white and blue wires inside. No metal is exposed, however. I think a few wraps of electrical tape will fix it. This is unsurprising for a cheap replacement, but it still holds its value. I think this is a common design flaw. The "rubber cone" that leads fromt he adapter housing extending along the cable for about an inch is too stiff and terminates in a hard end anyways. If it had a gradient of flexibility that when from stiff at the adapter housing to equally flexible at the end terminating on the cable, and if it terminated perfectly flush with the cable, or nearly so, I think this sheath breakage issue could be avoided. But, then, we are talking about a significant increase in cost.

I bought this for my Dell Inspiron 1420. The original quit working and I needed a cheaper replacement option. This works amazingly well. It is a wonderful deal for the price. I like it better than my original one because of the flexibility of the wires.

my original dell adapter suddenly stopped charging my battery (with the oh-so-common F1 message on boot-up; I hope the responsible dell designer dies painfully). I bought this as a replacement, and my battery is now on 100%. We'll see how long this will survive (if I get the F1 thing with this adapter, I'll lower the rating....)

for the price, plus free and fast shipping, plus good customer support (they replied to me when I emailed them on Saturday right away!), I'm extremely satisfied.

I was a bit nervous about purchasing this adapter as it's not a genuine DELL replacement adapter and the price seemed just too good to be true. I originally had to replace my Insprion E1505 battery as it would no longer hold a charge. When I replaced it I noticed that the battery wouldn't charge, but only get power from my original adapter. It was then that I noticed that the cable coming from the adapter to my laptop was frayed and would only charge if it was held at a particular angle. Electrical tape would work for about a day but I needed a more permanent solution.

Having scoured through countless other adapters on Amazon, I settled on this one as there were more positive reviews than negative. Since the price was fairly low compared to DELL's ridiculous price of almost $90 for an adapter to be used on a 6-year old laptop, I figured the worst would be that I was out the money for a large pizza.

When the adapter arrived, I was taken aback by how light it is in comparison to my old adapter. I felt right away that it wouldn't work, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt and plugged it in. The new battery had about 18% of its original juice left but, sure enough, the battery charging indicator on the laptop illuminated for the first time in months and the battery indicator in the system tray changed to show it was charging.

It's now been 2 months since I purchased the adapter and I have to say, it's performing admirably. It does get a little warm in comparison to the older adapter, but it's nowhere near as hot as the power adapter for my wife's new laptop I bought her recently. At the very least I would say the adapter has paid for itself in the convenience my children have had in being able to carry it anywhere within the house and no longer shackled to the wall 3 feet away. Now let's just hope I don't have to exercise the 3-year warranty the adapter has.
