Hot Hunky Zodiac Warriors-a must read!,
By Suzy (Columbus, Ohio) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Warrior Ascended: The Sons of the Zodiac (Mass Market Paperback)
Addison Fox has taken a new twist on paranormal romance with her debut book WARRIOR ASCENDED, the first in the SONS OF THE ZODIAC series. This is Fox's first book, but in it she does an excellent job setting up the premise of the series in which Themis, the divine goddess of law and order, exacts a bargain with Zeus to allow her so many warriors to protect the human world from Enyo the goddess of war.
Brody Talbot has been a Leo Warrior for Themis for thousands of years, but his latest battle with Enyo involves Ava Harrison, a mortal who may be the controller of the dark powers of the Egyptian Summoning Stones and the woman to fill his lonely heart. Fox takes us into her world of imortal warriors to see not only their battle over evil, but the battle to claim what their hearts need most. The guys are hunky, alpha males who aren't afraid to get in each other's space if the situation calls for it. This is going to be the first of many GREAT reads by this brand new author.

This is a great new series. I am looking forward to more books coming out soon. The material for this book is refreshingly new and well written. If you are a fan of Dark Hunter Novels you will like this new series!

Warrior Ascended,
This review is from: Warrior Ascended: The Sons of the Zodiac (Mass Market Paperback)
Thousands of years ago the Goddess of Justice created a band of warriors called the Sons of the Zodiac. Each warrior has been gifted with special abilities pertaining to each zodiac sign. These men are charged with keeping evil from destroying humanity. One such warrior is Brody Talbot. Brody is a Leo warrior and his duty is to stop the Goddess of War from unleashing havoc and death. He must somehow keep the power of the Summoning Stones of Egypt contained and his only choice is to ask for help from the only person he knows of that can help - museum curator Ava Harrison.
Ava has taken her father's research and gotten the Summoning Stones of Egypt put on display at New York's Museum of Natural History. When an archeologist she doesn't know is brought to the museum to protect the stones, Ava is unsure of him and with good reason. It seems their attraction for each other is fiery enough to melt steel, but they have important things to do - like stopping the annihilation of mankind! Warrior Ascended is more of an urban fantasy novel than a romance. The characters barely had chemistry in my opinion and that is something that I am not willing to sacrifice when reading. I have to have strong chemistry and a powerful connection between the hero and heroine and Warrior Ascended just didn't have that. Oh, it had bad guys and good guys and the fight of good versus evil. But having to read the world building and go through the entire book just isn't worth it. Ava's character is lukewarm at best and while Brody is one heck of a fine specimen, he can't carry the entire book. If Urban Fantasy with tiny bits of romance blended into a story is what you like to read, then I highly suggest Warrior Ascended. I, however, have got to have my smoldering looks and erotic passion. Outstanding story. It took quite a few pages to set up the story but for the first novel in a series, it was well done. Very enjoyable, good reading. The author has a strong ability to turn a well penned phrase and best of all- keep the reader's interest. Looking forward the the next book.

A hot, hunky hero and a timid museum curator who needs saving made for quite an exciting read on my last trip to New York. I blazed through this book in just two days and you will too. Addison writes a simply enthralling tale for the ages. Brody is the guy we all want protecting us and Ava is the girl we would all like to be. You'll be truly captivated by the characters and the back story she weaves throughout this magical battle between and good and evil. I just can't wait for the next book in the series to come out!

Is something wrong with me here???,
This review is from: Warrior Ascended: The Sons of the Zodiac (Kindle Edition)
I keep picking up series of books after reading all the reviews super pumped about how awesome they are going to be... My mother in law and I collect and share these books with each other and we had bought all three books as they were so highly recommended; LAST time I ever do that again!
Again I start a book and can't even finish it!!! The premise seemed so incredibly contrived and boring expecially the first bit about Themis and Zeus... I tried to read this book I really did but I'm tossing the whole collection into the "Sell back to half price books" bag. I can't tell you anything about the book what I did read was silly and uninteresting. Epic fail... I am now turning to Jennifer Lyons Magic series with the hopes that one won't dissapoint.

Warrior Ascended,
This review is from: Warrior Ascended: The Sons of the Zodiac (Mass Market Paperback)
The idea of the book is that Themis (the Goddess of Justice) and Zeus make a deal that Themis would create Zodiac warriors to protect humanity from Zeus' daughter Enyo (the Goddess of War).
Zodiac warriors=good Enyo=bad Pretty simple right? Well, not really. I really like the idea of the book, but the story skips around so much that things get confusing. Also, I never really connected with the characters. Usually the male lead is crushworthy, but not Brody....he was a bit lame. His Leo personality leaned so much towards the arrogant side and didn't show much redeeming qualities. I also had issues with the way Brody and Ava talk and interact because at times it got really hokey. Honestly it was just difficult to read. It is such a shame because this is the type of story I usually enjoy. However, I am not going to give up on the series just yet. I will be reading the next one in hopes that it gets better.

superb urban fantasy romance,
This review is from: Warrior Ascended: The Sons of the Zodiac (Mass Market Paperback)
Enyo the Goddess of War plans to steal five Egyptian Summoning Stones that will enable her to rule the world. Themis the Goddess of Justice to abate the mass destruction that Enyo has set in motion creates immortal warriors to fight for her cause of balancing the scales.
One of Themis' fighters Leo warrior Brody Talbot is assigned to protect museum curator Ava Harrison. She is grieving her father's murder, but excited over running his exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History in Manhattan where the ancient summoning stones her dad found are going to be displayed. Her only concern besides her father's death is the hunk of an archeologist Brody working with her. As they fall in love, she has horrific visions that she believes are stone induced. The first Sons of the Zodiac saga is a superb urban fantasy romance starring an eons old warrior and a mousy curator. The story line is action-packed as the Goddesses battle through minion over possession of the stones. Fans will enjoy the Fifth Age of Man as the Leo Warrior Ascended with the mortal he protects to fight the forces of Enyo. Harriet Klausner

No Chemistry - Great Plot. Nothing to Roar About.,
By Denise Bolds "Lion Who Reads A Lot!" (New York United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Warrior Ascended: The Sons of the Zodiac (Mass Market Paperback)
It's sad when the extra characters carry the story... In this FIRST book I can't grasp the 'chemistry' between Brody & Ava, Ava is a Gemini and the constant questions and doubt she has would drive me - a LEO completely insane! I kept reading this book because the additional characters is what kept the story going. I am a LEO and I need a strong mate, a gemini just doesn't cut it! UGH! The romance scenes in this story just did not match the plot nor the astrologic signs - to dull! I really hope the next book is better. For this to be a series, its off to a dull start! This is nothing to roar about!
