4.0 out of 5 stars Great album but..., March 20, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Warrior Is a Child (Audio CD)
...As for the album itself it is a great collection of Twila's earlier work with her popular anthem "The Warrior is a Child", praise favorites ("We Bow Down", "Praise Him"), a wonderful arrangement of the hymn"Leaning on the Everlasting Arms", and even a couple more aggressive (for Twila) tracks in "Forever Eyes" and "To Do Your Will" (though I really don't like them as much as the later "God is in Control" or "I See You Standing").

My favorite track on the whole album, however, is "Do I Trust You", a very personal and touching track that really spells out our relationship with Christ ("Sometimes my little heart can't understand/what's in your will, what's in your plan/So many times I'm tempted to ask you why"). A classic Twila Paris song which is just as moving today as over a decade ago.

I love this CD! I have a hard time picking out anything else to listen to! My two favorite songs are "The Warrior is a Child" and "Do I Trust You?" "The Warrior is a Child" reminds me that I am never to fight the battles in my own strength, and that I need to find a quiet place to rest. The song "Do I Trust You Lord?" always seems to come to me at a time when I am feeling particularly challenged as a believer, and the only thing I need to know is that I will trust Him no matter what path I may walk down. I am reminded that not only does the Lord build the house, He chooses the materials with which to build the house. I would highly recommend this CD - it has changed the way I look at trials in my life!

5.0 out of 5 stars Twila's Wonderful The Warrior Is A Child CD, February 13, 2003

This is wonderful music from Twila from 1984. There are great songs on this cd. The Warrior is a Child, We Bow Down, Praise Him and Do I Trust You are well known songs on the CD and are sung in the churches. This is Twila's third Benson release.
She recorded this album just before marrying Jack Wright who was also her manager for a season. She was 24 years old when this cd came out. Her giftings are already manifest for writing great worship. Twila says that the song the Warrior is a Child has produced more positive feedback to her than any other song she has written. She was inspired to write the song after hearing the word of God preached that no matter what happens or who you are, you are still a child of God when you believe in Jesus (Yeshua).
