A great tool for a great price.

Standard self-massage tools are orders of magnitude more expensive and less effective, making these balls some of the best things on earth for self deep-tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and general self myofascial release for recovery. I carry one with me every day to use it for my piriformis and thoracic spine. It can be used standing against a wall, or laying on the floor, though laying on the floor may be far too intense an experience to do in public. (self-massage with a tennis ball is a joke as the ball nearly flattens under any pressure)

These tools are amazing and cheap, buy a 6-pack and share with friends. They will change your life.

Also, they are heavy-duty, non-smelly, and well made; I'm sure they're great for lacross.

I bought this ball for some shoulder therapy and it has an awesome, dense, rubbery feel to it. I don't play Lacrosse, so I don't know if that is how they are support to feel... but if they are, then... this one is great :)

I use this ball to massage/roll my back, legs, and feet (I'm a runner). More portable than a foam roller or even "The Stick"/"Tiger Tail". Works very well--dense, firm, and not slippery. Definitely harder than a tennis ball, which I like (and, it doesn't leave tennis ball fuzz on your shirt!). I bought orange because I thought it wouldn't get that grungy brown-ish tinge as fast as the white or yellow balls--and it would be harder to lose.
I know nothing about lacrosse except that it was invented by the Native Americans, so I can't comment on the use of this ball for its "intended" purpose... I do know how to juggle, though, and if I had three or four of these, it could be pretty fun (it's bouncy, but not the bounciest ball I've seen, so if you want these for floor/bounce juggling, you might consider looking elsewhere)

My boyfriend was in two major cycling accidents (one resulting in a broken neck) and suffers from chronic back pain. As part of his Christmas gifts I wanted to put together a little "independent" physical therapy package. In researching various self massagers I kept seeing lacrosse balls. I figured its 2 bucks, might as well. Included in the package was a yoga ball, body rollers and other ergonomic massage tools and he says that the ball changed everything. Its his favorite. I personally don't have that kind of pain so I can't explain the extent of his relief, but when he rolls around on it needless to say he makes the same noises he makes in the bedroom. Who knew that of all the fancy gifts I got him, the one that cost the least would be the one that he loves the most.

If you have ropey muscles and chronic pain, try it out.

I actually bought this to work out knots in my husband's back - it is just the right combination of flexibility and rigidity. Just what I expected from a lacrosse ball

I really got into mobility over the past few years, using foam rollers and such. A friend suggested a Lacrosse ball to really get those knots. I've got one on my shoulders that this thing REALLY works on. If you want a cheap tool to help you stay loose, this is it. It's a solid rubber ball, you can't tear it up. One caveat, if you have kids, order more than one, they'll steal them from you :)

I had read on a website that for dealing with tight foot arches, a lacrosse ball was a great low-cost solution*. I picked one up and followed instructions - a few minutes a day rolling the ball under each foot. At first it was excruciating, but over time I noticed more give, less pain and sensitivity in the feet and calves, and greater range of motion. My toes, almost permanently curled in on themselves, have lengthened and straightened out, and walking is less painful.

You could do the same with something similar, I imagine, but the size and density of the lacrosse ball has been well worth the purchase price.

I use this for myofascial release of lactic acid in my athletes. They HATE the process, but LOVE the results. It's a good, sturdy product that gets the job done. Fair price, too!
