5.0 out of 5 stars funky use, but my most effective massage tool, October 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Lacrosse Ball (White) (Misc.)
I am plagued by chronic myofascial trigger points on my back, i.e., muscle knots. It's extremely difficult to massage them away even with really innovative tools like the Theracane, Body Back Buddy, or Backnobber. Instead, this low cost item has become my go-to massage tool. I just drop one of these lacrosse balls in a long thin sock (think stockings), and roll my muscle knots against a wall with this in between. Works wonders. I can apply extremely deep pressure without tiring myself out. This ball is the perfect weight, toughness, and density for this massage technique. The build of the ball is very solid. The one I received had some minor flaws on the surface that were like small rips, but it did not affect the performance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for use as a foam roller., December 29, 2010

These are great for reducing muscle soreness and increasing mobility. Google terms like "foam rolling" and "myofascial release" for uses. Using these can be quite painful at first or when you have an extremely sore spot. But they are excellent for targeting specific specific spots. Think of it as a deep massage that you can do on yourself.

I also recommend looking at[...] The site has a daily mobility "workout" that is great increasing flexibility and workout out kinks. The main tools he uses are a jump-stretch band (a big rubberband) and a lacrosse ball.

5.0 out of 5 stars A different use, January 25, 2012

If you have ever had dogs you realize that they chew and chew well these balls will meet that problem. The density and size are ideal for German Shepsheards. Get several so you can play fetch and return and you will never have a bored full of energy pup or dog. Thanks for making a product that stands up to over a thousand pounds of biting power. I will keep coming back.

What can a person really say about a LaCrosse ball... this item was purchased as a gift so I will not be using it personally but it is a LaCrosse ball...

I bought this to roll my back on and it really helps get all those knots and tight spots. The ball can take my weight and will probably last for years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for massage!, October 16, 2011
This review is from: Lacrosse Ball (White) (Misc.)
It's funny how everyone seems to be using these for therapy. Works great for massaging out trigger points/muscle knots. I have tried all of the other "tools"...the Backnobber, Thera-cane, tennis balls, etc. This is the best and cheapest tool I have found. Much better density than a tennis ball. I'd say they are probably indestructible. I have two at home and one at work. For your back and shoulders just put the ball between the wall and you and kind of roll it very firmly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing., August 12, 2011

The lacrosse ball is good as both equipment for the game lacrosse and an excellent toy for the dog. My dogs accidentally got ahold of them for hours while I was away from home, I came back and they were completely intact and the dogs had a blast. Forget about tennis balls, use lacrosse balls. They go three times as far and the dogs have four times as much fun.

I use this ball for SMR - self myofascial release, or 'massaging'. A great cheap tool to get rid of trigger points and help recover from intense workouts.

they are fine. They are lacrosse balls. Nothing wrong with them (but I've never actually seen 'bad' lacrosse balls).
