More About the Author

MELISSA MAYHUE began her writing career in 2005 after a vacation to Scotland and a hike on the Black Isle inspired her with the perfect setting for the characters running around in her head. Her resulting debut novel, THIRTY NIGHTS WITH A HIGHLAND HUSBAND, won the Holt Medallion and Book Buyers Best awards in 2008 and made the finals of the Colorado Book Awards.

Since then, her imaginary world of Faeries and Mortals has continued to grow. A HIGHLANDER'S HOMECOMING, sixth book in her award-winning Daughters of the Glen series from Pocket Books, was a 2011 RITA finalist in the Paranormal Category.

Most recently, Melissa has introduced a new time travel series - The Magic of Time series - which picks up where The Daughters of the Glen and The Warriors left off. The first book - ALL THE TIME YOU NEED is already available and the second, ANYWHERE IN TIME, will be out in the summer of 2015.

She's also added a small-town contemporary series, the Chance Colorado series. The first book in that series, TAKE A CHANCE, is available now and the second, SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE, should be available by the end of 2015.

Married and the mother of three sons, Melissa lives in beautiful Northern Colorado with her family, one spoiled Boston Terrier and a very vocal, very old Siamese cat.

I'm not a natural born gusher. I rarely fawn, slobber, or otherwise turn into a flaming fangirl over anyone. However, I do occasionally post a curse or two on Facebook on an authors page because they've kept me up late, reading their latest novel, making me bleary-eyed and foggy in the morning.

In fact, with few exceptions, I don't post what I'm reading. Partially, it's because I'm exceptionally lazy, and have a hard time figuring out sites like Goodreads and That Library Thing. But everything comes to a screeching halt when one particular author releases a new novel.

Melissa Mayhue is my Kryptonite. Her rawr! heroes and sassy heroines suck me in, and my people can expect that I will be unavailable for anything other than wine and popcorn until I've ripped through her latest from cover to cover. In fact, they are cautioned not to interrupt me unless their hair is on fire.

FIRE! People. FI-RE.

So it is my greatest pleasure to post this review of Melissa's latest novel. WARRIOR REBORN:

I freakin' LOVED it.

From start to finish the novel takes you on a rollicking time travel ride, one which Ms Mayhew has perfected with her previous Daughters of the Glen series. (Go order her back list: you will not be sorry.) Chase Nobel, our hero, is seeking the destiny promised to him by his Fae father, with the reward of finding his SoulMate, and Christiana MacDowlt , our heroine, possesses the ability to see future events through visions, is always trying to thwart her evil half-brother Torquil.

Melissa Mayhew's character driven stories never fail to pull you into the action, and her writer's voice carries you along until the end.

I do love my warriors....who am I kidding...I LOVE MEN IN KILTS!

Melissa Mayhue has really stepped up her game with this book. With so much passion and soul....the drama and feelings of each character...every action you forget you're reading a book.

The characters are a blast! Chase is so care free, he is at the point of either it's going to happen or not. So when it does....it's like...yeah right.
In the same sense he's loyal, kind and HOT!

Then you have Christiana making a return appearance (Warrior's Redemption),she is still head strong and thinks of others.

My favorite character has to be Halldor!!!
I swear it's like that man could stay calm through anything and boy could he talk!!! Wholly Boogers!!!
Of course one really needs to ask "Who is Halldor"?

As this story progresses from Chase travelling 700 years back in time in his undies....to Halldor talking his way for Chase and him to serve Torquil to the broken wagon to the night at "My mother's mother" ....it all one big adventure...
Then the tables really start to turn......
Love starts to hit ...knives miss and a head comes off..........
(yes there's more!)

Yet, still at the end I have this need to want to go what? when the heck did he do that....did I miss it...No way really?
Oh Heck when's the next book?

Melissa Mayhue always leaves me hungry for more, for the next one, even to re-read the last one, or if I had the time, I'd reread the whole series.

Warrior Reborn
Warrior Book Two
By Melissa Mayhue

Christiana has been gifted with visions her entire life but because of this she is held captive by her half-brother. Though life is not without hope she has foreseen a man from the future who will come to her aid in medieval Scotland, Chase Noble. Chase is a former special ops agent who has been waiting his entire life for the gift of a Fae that his father once promised him. The gift is finally finding his soul-mate.

I always enjoy a good time-travel novel when you blend the old with the new, or even vice versa. I personally think it takes a lot of talent to pull something like this off, because you must weave two completely different stories and settings into one seamless novel. Melissa Mayhue has done a remarkable job, not only did she manage to entrance the reader with the settings and characters of a time-travel novel but she also added in her own twist with an aspect of Fae being responsible and a highly influential facet. But this is only the beginning of the beauty of this novel, first and foremost it is a romance and Melissa Mayhue wrote so convincingly that the romance is palpable. If you are a fan of romance this is one worth taking the time to read, it is entertaining and beautiful. Though this is book two in the series it is a "stand-alone" novel so you can pick it up and read without feeling lost, but it will make you want more.
I was sent a free copy of this novel for an honest review.

Melissa Mayhue is one of my favorite authors. I adore her Daughters of the Glen Series and this new Warriors series is an offshoot of that with some of our favorite characters flowing over.

Chase Noble is one of our Hero's, I say one because one of my new favorite characters is Halldor. Chase is half fae and he awaits his promised fate and soulmate. Halldor who first appears in Warriors Last Gift becomes Chases best friend and helps him achieve his goal. I won't say more about Halldor because you simply need to read the 2 books for yourself to understand why he is my new Book crush.

Melissa has woven another enchanting story with fascinating Characters and such wonderful description I felt I was there experiencing the story as it unfolds.

Once again I find myself in that agonizing position of an author not being able to write the next book fast enough. Here's to you Melissa Mayhue, you have done it again.

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
