Actio packed (Full of spoilers),
This review is from: Warriors: Battles of the Clans (Hardcover)
I have read all the warrior books except a couple of comics and the like,so yeah,I'm a big warrior fan. But when I saw this,I didn't really expect it would be that great,I expected a bunch of battles slashed together.
I certainly was wrong. This book is narrated by several characters in the books, from Onestar to Tigerclaw. It starts as Onestar welcomes you to his camp and tells you he will show you the clans battle lore. For some reason he takes you first to the other clans but oh well. One thing I liked about this book is that like the other field guides, this one has a story where you are a character being shown around. But this one gets better as at one point Tigerclaw interrupts and shows you the old forest. This book does talk about many battles, most of them are brand new. It's also very updated, showing Mistystar as the new leader. A must have for every Warrior fan.

Beautiful Companion to the Novels - Buy the Hardcover,

This review is from: Warriors: Battles of the Clans (Hardcover)
This is a beautifully made companion piece to the novels. The pictures are gorgeous, and the book itself is well made. I'm not going to spoil the stories, but there are battles that someone who has read all the books will remember and battles from long ago in the Clans' histories.
All of the vignettes make the most of what works best in the Warriors books: the action sequences. The fights are well-written and exciting, and I was amazed at how quickly I cared about the characters who were new to me. The book is light on the relational and serial drama aspects of the books, although I am pretty sure it drops some hints about both the Omen of the Stars series and the upcoming Sky Clan's Destiny super edition. It made my son, who is nine and the big warriors fan in the family, want to go back and re-read Bluestar's Prophecy, which makes me happy. If he's loving the books, I'm loving the authors. Kudos to te Erin Hunter team on this one.

This is a great guide!
There are exclusive never before told stories, such as "Battle of the Foxes" (I think that's what it's called) where Graystripe guides the four Clans into a battle against foxes on their territory while Firestar is away rebuilding SkyClan. Another one is when Lionheart (then Lionpaw) was too afraid to fight a battle, so he hid in Snakerocks for a long time. There are also some neat paintings inside the book about scenes from the stories. In this book, you are a kittypet "guided" by Clan warriors and Clan leaders through each Clan. You are there to learn about historic battles of the Clans, so the cats of the Clans teach you about them, and tell their stories. The only problem I have is that if you haven't read Fading Echos (the 2nd Omen of the Stars book) some major spoilers are in store for you in this book. Also, there are a few mistakes such as it saying that Cinderpelt, Sootfur, AND Rainwhisker died in the badger fight in ThunderClan, but Rainwhisker didn't in the series. Otherwise a great book and an ideal gift!!!

Warriors is amaizng,
This review is from: Warriors: Battles of the Clans (Hardcover)
Similarly to Cats of the Clans, Erin Hunter has this book set up in a very unique way. It's almost like fourth person--Tawnypelt is talking to two kittypets, and it feels you as the reader are one of the kittypets. You learn about the different Clans' battle techniques, the locations in which those battle techniques were used, and there are stories of old about SkyClan and ancient ThunderClan.

I have been collecting these books, I am a cat lover and also a writer. This book explains how these different clans of cats set up their battle techniques against each other and other foes. Reading the books doesn't give you the insight into the training that goes with each clan. So this book tells you that. And also the background history of each clan. It is fun to imagine yourself as a cat heading into battle. Thing about it and you'll see.

This was a great addition to Warrior series.
It talked about many of the great battles the cat clans have had. I have read many of the warrior-books in the series up to the new ones. The series is interesting and there is not just one main character, the main characters change throught the series. Old cats die and new apprentices grow up and become leaders.. The author has created an interesting bear world and animal action&adventure series. Erin Hunter is actually many different writers, and not just one person. The author has written three sets of Warrior cat -books, and several separate Warrior stories to tell the background stories of the clan cats. I would recommend "Warriors: Omen of the Stars: The Fourth Apprentice" to children/YA/adults who like cats, action and adventure. Other similar books besides the Warrior -series, that the readers might like are the Seekers by Erin Hunter, and then also the new Animellis Island -series.

I have purchased all of these cat books in this series and my grandaughter (14) loves cats and loves these books. She was very happy to hear that there will be a new one for Christmas. I am for anything that she will happily read that is not violent or trashy.
