5.0 out of 5 stars A Trip Down Memory Lane... August 8, 2009
Format:Hardcover
All of us Warriors fans are well aware of the warrior code, that set of laws that the Clan cats live by (and break,in some cases). But have you ever wondered exactly how the code came to be? Well, wonder no longer! In this volume the Erins take us back to the Forest to learn the circumstances its creation.
The book is made up of about 13 or 14 sections. Each section stands for a part of the code. The particular rule being discussed is placed at the very beginning of each section, and then there is a story which explains why that rule became a part of the code, and occasionally an extra story describing what happened when a certain cat broke the rule.
The stories, from the tragic tale of the lovers Ryewhisker and Cloudberry, which led to cross-Clan romance being forbidden,to my personal favorite, which features Lionheart as an apprentice and tells how he discovers a shocking secret about the then leader of ThunderClan,Pinestar, are fantastic. It's hard to put into words, but they have that old Warriors 'feel' to them.I don't know if it's because they're set in the Forest(which I still miss) but they are reminiscent of the original series and are a real 'trip down memory lane' for those of us who love that series.
Code of the Clans is a high-quality,wonderful read and one I would reccomend for any Warriors fan who misses the'old days' of the series. You really did a great job with this one,Erins!I give it two thumbs up!

4.0 out of 5 stars Creative and interesting, but too many random names November 1, 2009
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
In code of the clans, you are in the position of a cat with no knowledge of the warrior code. Leafpool and Starclan help you understand. Each has a moral, and how the code was suggested. This book includes new, full-color illustrations that are both beautiful, and relevant to the topic.

Personally, I belive that Erin Hunter has been trying out new names for her upcoming characters. Each story contains a few cats you never have known about, and probably never will again.

The full-color illustrations, as i said, are wonderful and coincide well with the story, but they are placed in random spots. You find a picture that went with a story that was four stories away, and you have to wonder what they are doing so far away from the topic.

But other than that, this is a book that all Warriors fans will enjoy.

It was very good because it explained how the Warrior Code came to be and how the author made it interesting.I also like the fact it included SkyClan because not books in the series actually do.

It is kind of favoritism, only cause Firestar is directly in front and all teh other cats are behind him so they have tobe smaller

Wicked Awesome Coincidence!!!
That's a brilliant coincidence... I have something similar, although not as strange.
I'd just started a story about how Scourge came to power, and I was going to post the first chapter when, what do I see? The Rise of Scourge. Very startling. Also very annoying lol.

What is this about????
Well I am sure it is something to do with the warrior code. The book is called Code of the Clans. Or maybe what each clan does because a code is kinda like something you do and it has Clans in the name. idk
