4.0 out of 5 stars Why change if people keep buying?
Sure Koei keeps releasing the same game with new skins and slight game play variation every few months. If you played one Koei game and liked it, chances are you'll like any Koei game. I've played roughly 6 of the various Warriors games (Samurai, Dynasties, Orochi, etc..) and they are pretty much the same game over and over. You start off with a goal like say, save all...

1.0 out of 5 stars Warriors Lagochi 2: Lag Strikes Back
I've been a fan of the "Warriors" series since the original Dynasty Warriors. I've played through Dynasty Warriors 1-4, Samurai Warriors 1-2, and the original Warriors Orochi. When I heard Orochi 2 was finally available in America, I hurried to buy it.

The game arrives, my friend throws it into his 360, and it starts up. Okay, looks beautiful, new...

You start off with a goal like say, save all the peasants, and then mow down 100's of enemies getting that goal completed. Repeat until the end. That said, I like them. Don't ask me why. They are just mindless button mashers. I love leveling up characters and every one has plenty of characters to level up. Try one out, if you enjoy it, pick up some of the others. Most older ones can be had cheap now, and since there's not much difference between the old and the new, you'll get the idea how the games play and save some $$ doing it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mindless Fun, April 8, 2009

There's just something fun about being a superhero surrounded my regular people. The plot is about as thick as rain and the story translates worse than a '80s Jackie Chan movie, but the game is just a lot of fun. It's just pure, repetitive, button mashing fun. I think it's because you're this super-powerful guy that makes it entertaining, and the level-up/improvement system along with ever increasing difficulties keeps you coming back for more.

This is not a very complicated game. It is your basic hack and slash game. There are really no strategies involved, just button smashing. It is perfect for times when you just don't want to think and strategize too much after a long day. It is fun to power-up and upgrade weapons to enhance the game play.

NOTE: If you are looking for a DEEP game, look elsewhere!!

Although these games tend to repeat themselves with a few differences here and there, the series continues to go strong because it is very entertaining and it catches your interest instantly. I am and probably always will be a fan of all Dynasty Warriors series and sub-games.

This game is probably the best in the never-ending franchise (dynasty warriors)
It combines characters from dynasty warriors, samurai warriors, and the previous warriors orochi. The thing I like is you pick 3 characters for a mission and can swap in and out at any time during battles. Unfortunately the game still suffers from slow-down when alot of action is happening on the screen. Load times are decent, I recommend installing to hard drive if you can. Overall it's still a blast for a mindless hack and slash game.

i know dynasty warriors gets a bad name for being repetative and uninovative. but for those who havn't played the orochi games yet there is a huge new set up for this. i own orochi the first one so i'm glad i got this at a discounted price, but if you havn't purchased an orochi or a dynasty warriors in a while this is a great one to get. its alot more fleshed out than the first one with an orochi story mode and some new characters to play with it is really a good addition to the series, i only wish there was a character creation system like in the older ones.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fast paced gameplay with strategy elements - totally fun, May 3, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

Is this a great game?
nope.

Is this a game you will play years later?
nope.

Is this a game that is fun to play after a long day (or week) at work?
You bet!

This game still lags like it did on the PS2.
I haven't noticed much improvement since it moved to the next gen. consoles.
The PSP version of this plays identical.

So why do I love it so much?
There is nothing like jumping into a village with a sword 10 feet long and slicing up a couple hundred soldiers. This is hack-and-slash gaming at it's best. The pop-up is bummer, but not a deal breaker.

My fav' part of the game is actually handled in the menu pre-fight set up. You have to fuse your warriors weapons together. There are so many elements to add, you really have to think it out. You never seen to have enough money to do everything, so it keeps you interested in the game. You are constantly trying to build up to the ultimate warrior. Once you get the weapon going, you can still add "abilities" to the warriors. This extra element adds even more strategy. The management of your players skills and weapons is just a blast!

This is a fun game to play.
Not epic, but damn fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars HD YAY!, April 14, 2009

Thank goodness this is available on the 360! Since PS3 is not backwards compatible, I would not have been able to play the PS2 version. But Microsoft saved the day! I love it! Great game!

I love the dynasty warriors series (except dynasty warriors 6) and have been playing them since dynasty 2. the whole concept of warriors orichi and controlling 3 different characters is awesome. i found the warriors orichi 2 to be much better then the first one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tons of Characters, June 4, 2011

If you like other games in the Dynasty Warrior/Samurai Warrior series, you'll like this, plain and simple. However, I must note that the sheer amount of characters you can play as is awe inspiring. There is a character for pretty much any play style. I'm a bit of a completionist and it took me over 100 hours to get all of the achievements, so it had quite a lot of replay value for me.
