I'm a Mom who has fallen in love with the Warrior series. This particular set "Warriors: Power of Three" is based on Firestar's 3 grandchildren. It is fortold kin of his kin will hold the power of the stars in their paws. This particular series is a little bit on the "slow read" side. There is lots of dreams Jaypaw (Jayfeather) has about ancient cats. Lionpaw (Lionblaze) also finds himself in a dream trip. The final book picks up the plot and leaves the reader wondering "Who is the 3rd cat in the prophecy?" One can pick up this series and read it without having read the first set of books "Warriors" but it's not recommended; at some point the reader will be lost as to "why" things are happening. Start with the 1st and 2nd sets of books before reading this series. The Warriors is my son's favorite books to read! He's 10 years old and can't hardly put them down.

My 10 year old nephew got me started on reading this series. It is an excellent story series for all ages (10 to 88 so far!). the books are an easy read for kids of all ages. Aside from the addictive storyline, there are substories of loyalty, betrayal, honor, progressive responsibility, life and death. Nothing gruesome or gory. highly reccomend the series!

This Author must have been a cat in some other life. I plan on purchasing every book she's ever written - what a world of wonder she takes you to - and how much better now can I understand my own two cats. Thank you Erin Hunter !

These are the only series of books my daughter will actually read on her own. She loves them. They are well written and definitely appropriate for most ages.

I by no means want to discourage people from investing in these books as the series as a whole is mesmerizing, but would just like to comment on a few things I believe make this a rather bland installment to the series, and to warn those expecting amazing things. I also realize as a young adult (25) these are aimed at youth, but even I believe the first 12 were well written and captivating, so I don't think I'm being too harsh.

1. Redundancy. Throughout much of the first book and occasionally throughout all 6, I find characters 'reminiscing' about earlier events that happened to the point that it becomes obvious recap. Although it doesn't seem like too big a deal , it's really unfortunate that I found myself skipping many paragraphs, and occasionally a page because it was almost an exact recap of events that were large plot points generally remembered (even for young readers, and in my instance after reading a separate novel between). I'm not reading the current book to get an earlier book's content, that's what the prologue is for.

2. Characters. This is more personal opinion, but I think it holds true. I was a little disappointed that all three main characters were very straightforward, and cliche. My only guess is the Hunter's were wanting to write in variety, but in comparison to the earlier books where characters developed and grew as events came and went (satisfying the audience), these three stayed mostly self-centered and narrow-minded in their ideals to the very last page of this installment (maybe give Lionblaze to a little degree). I realize the characters throughout the books are trying to find their meaning in life regarding the prophecy, and getting angst therefrom (appealing to the teen audience)...

IF YOU LOVE CATS THEN ERIN HUNTER'S BOOKS ARE FOR YOU. THESE BOOKS ARE IN THE CHILDREN'S SECTION, BUT I AM 73 YEARS YOUNG AND HAVE READ 16 OF HER BOOKS. SHE KNOWS HOW TO MAKE CATS COME TO LIFE. I ALSO LIVE WITH 4 CATS. THEY ARE MY BEST FRIENDS.

So I started reading these books when I was in middle school, read the first series. Picked it back up and have sense read all the way up to the 4th series and waiting for the 5th book of the series to come out. I am a college student but still have a deep love for these books! They are utterly captivating and no matter how old I get I believe I will continue to read these as long as Erin Hunter is producing them.

My son is nine years old and he started his first Warriors book at 8 1/2 years old. He really was not interested in reading and was behind his class. Then, he found this series and loved it so much he reads like a maniac now. This is actually the third installment in the Warrior series. So far, each installment has six books. I hope we will be able to find other books to keep his interest when we finish all of these.
