4.0 out of 5 stars Great, but it NEEDS a sequel!
It was really good but some things were left unfinished. Like all warriors books there were many adventures but some were left incomplete like the whole junk pile itself was completely forgoten. And what about the rat corpses? Did vultures get them? But I did like the way the clan played those games for training and Leafstar's and Billystorm's romance was sweet. It...

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing Yet So Nice
This was a gianormus letdown. This book was too slow, the plot confusing, and the ending adrupt.

I was really looking forward to this. Leafstar was one of my favorite characters of all time, and this book put a slight dent in that. Leafstar has a personality different that portrayed Firestar's Quest. I have always imagined her as a bit shy, but spunky, and...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, but it NEEDS a sequel!, September 18, 2010
It was really good but some things were left unfinished. Like all warriors books there were many adventures but some were left incomplete like the whole junk pile itself was completely forgoten. And what about the rat corpses? Did vultures get them? But I did like the way the clan played those games for training and Leafstar's and Billystorm's romance was sweet. It was a little abrupt, though. Just when they realized they liked eachother Echosong broke them up and they remained that way for most of the book. I loved the ending when Leafstar decided that she could be with Billystorm and resolved her issues with Sharpclaw and Echosong. Red's death was really random and sad though, and the battle itself felt incomplete and Stick was not acting like himself- I'm kinda glad they rushed that bit. All in all the book was spectacular though the ending was a bit rushed and it definitly deserves a sequel.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-read even though it's not about the clans we know, February 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book deals strictly with the newly reformed SkyClan (read Firestar's Quest first).

It is a tale that could be set in any corporate environment, as an organization comes to life amidst dueling visions and spats between various factions, all of whom want what's best for the organization, but come from very different places on how to achieve that result.

Under the astute leadership of LeafStar, SkyClan is going to be like no other clan we've met thus far in the Warriors series. First of all, kittypets are allowed! Yes - they are called Day Warriors - and herein lies the heart of the problem, becaue LeafStar's deputy doesn't like the idea of Day Warriors, nor do some of the other Warriors.

The deputy challenges LeafStar and that challenges goes right to very last pages of the book, where it is brilliantly resolved.

This is a book that can be enjoyed on so many levels, by all age groups. I highly recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing Yet So Nice, September 3, 2010
This was a gianormus letdown. This book was too slow, the plot confusing, and the ending adrupt.

I was really looking forward to this. Leafstar was one of my favorite characters of all time, and this book put a slight dent in that. Leafstar has a personality different that portrayed Firestar's Quest. I have always imagined her as a bit shy, but spunky, and this book portrayed her almost exactly like Firestar. There are already six books about him. I don't need another Firestar.

The ending was rushed. Stick & the others' departure was to abrupt, and the end wasn't ended very well. The ending was sorta like a train. Going, going... emergency brake!

I was rather pleased with this book(It was a nice break from Lionblaze) and I hope there will be a followup that goes a little farther in the future.

4.0 out of 5 stars Yet another great book from one of my fave authors, August 26, 2010
A Kid's Review
This was, overall, a very good book! The Warriors series is one of my favorites. I have longed for more SkyClan since I finished Firestar's Quest, and this wasn't a disappointment. One of the things that got my brain working in the story was the business with Sharpclaw; all through the book, I was trying to decide if he was still loyal or swaying. I enjoy stories with those sort of things because it keeps me reading so I can find out which way the character went.

(Do not read the rest of this review if you haven't finished the book!!!!)

I would give this 5 stars, but a couple of things, in my opinion, were brought on too quickly. Like Leafstar falling in love with Billystorm; there was none of that, until one day, when Billystorm was randomly courteous to her, and so she went, "I say, I want Billystorm to be my mate!" And at the end, there wasn't anything about Red's death. It was like, she dies--rapid scene change--then a few more pages... "oh look I'm out of paper. The end!"

Okay, that sounds harsher than I meant. But anyway, it's not the best book, but it's still a good read, and if you love Warriors you should have it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review for the young reader, November 21, 2011
As a child I was always reluctant or just unwilling to read. I would allow other to read to me but I refused to read myself. This would go on until I was around 10 years old. You may be asking yourself: how could anyone get through school until 5th grade with minimal reading. Well it all starter one day when my dad introduced me to a new book. We tea this book over and over again. after that I discovered the warriors series. The First series was well written but I could see that this was probably from a relatively new author. The series contained a fun mixture of action, comedy, adventure, romance and betrayal. The next couple of series are similar but contain signs of a more experienced writer. It is a great series and book to read on a slow day and I encourage others to read these novels

4.0 out of 5 stars Well written, but not the best., September 15, 2011
I have been reading the Warriors series since I was in fourth grade ( I am in seventh now and have read them all) and they always have been my favorite series. Bluestar`s prohecy, Crookedstar`s promise, and Firestar`s quest were all wounderful but Skyclan`s destiny was, like I said in my title, well written, but not the best. I really did dislike the names (only a few) just Billystorm, Macgyver, and Snookthorn. The rest of the Day-light warriors` names I didn`t mind.
The plot alone was a bit jumbled. The warriors dashing from place to place as if the story was cut short, and the ending wasn`t really a closing to the story, it felt like an opening to a new second book. This story wasn`t horrible, the descriptions were really well written, and the attitudes of the characters were made clear.
So, above all the Warriors super edition Skyclan`s Destiny destiny had it`s good points and bad, but it is still deservant of four stars. The Erin Hunter(s) have always been my number one inspiration for writing my own books and always will be. I just think this book wasn`t their best.

4.0 out of 5 stars Such bland characters!!!!!!!, July 21, 2011
A Kid's Review
This was a pretty good book and interesting enough to read twice, but AGH!!! (Warning minor ~SPOILERS~) too much Leafstar and Billystorm! Get OVER it, will you?! It seemed like the whole book was about how Leafstar had to impress Billystorm. And what kind of name is Billystorm, anyway? In this book, Leafstar lets kittypets into the Clan, to be a Clan cat by day and a kittypet by night. (They're called daylight-warriors in the book) This detail really annoyed me, and Leafstar was apparently too lazy to give the daylight-warriors real warrior names! Honestly! Billystorm? Ebonyclaw? Snookthorn? HARVEYmoon??? MACGYVER? FRECKLEPAW? These are uncreative-human-warrior names! Where's the cats?

If you want to read about SkyClan, read Firestar's Quest, because this book is probably Erin Hunter's worst.

My main problem with this book is that all the characters went bland. In Firestar's Quest, Leafstar was my favorite character, deserving of her leader name Leafstar. Now... ERIN HUNTER, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH LEAFSTAR?????? She has a bland, flavorless, stupid personality and can sometimes even be sort of mean (though that might just be her acting really stupid). WHY couldn't Leafstar let Echosong have Frecklepaw (and WHY did she have to name her Frecklepaw?) as an apprentice? Leafstar went from a shy, smart, reasonable, modest, deserving leader to a bland, stupid, lazy, whiny idiot who doesn't feel like being a proper leader anymore. Sharpclaw is oh-so-painfully-predictable, Echosong lost a lot of her personality... And the ending was painful to read. It's an everything-turns-out-happy-lovey-dovey-for-Leafstar-but-other-characters-can-suffer-because-they're-not-cool-ebough-to-be-the-protagonist ending. It just seems like Erin Hunter has switched from wildcat personalities so stupid human personalities. The characters are pretending to be cats

Mind you, I didn't give this book four stars for nothing. I tend to concentrate on the bad parts because those details stand out the most, and it's easy to write a lot about them. The book was relatively interesting, pretty funny, had some parts I really liked and parts that were really sweet. I really enjoyed reading it, and the rest of this review is harsher than I actually feel, and all in all it is a good book, but if you're going to read it, get it from the library.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not great!, July 2, 2011
I liked it but it just wasn`t great. It needs a sequal and the plot was confusing. The were no big secrets to find out like usual. I noticed the cat seemed too differient compared to Firestar`s Quest.

Overall it was dissapointing and in my opinoin the worst one yet.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read, March 2, 2011
I am the #1 Warriors fan! I just finished reading SkyClan's Destiny and I am amazed once again by how well Erin Hunter writes. You know exactly how the cats feel and I just get such a clear picture of what's going on. I liked Leafstar more in Firestar's Destiny but she still made a great character. She was more shy in the first book. I really liked Shrewtooth but I didn't totally LOVE Stick and his gang. (SPOILERS!) When they told Leafstar about why they only wanted to live with SkyClan so that they could defeat Dodge, I suddenly hated them as if I was Leafstar. But over all, they made a great addition to this book. Over all, this is a great book and I recommend this book to anyone. This book is a must have for every Warriors collector. ~Twigfoot of EarthClan~
