Great Comprehensive Single Volume,

This review is from: The Wars of Edward III: Sources and Interpretations (Warfare in History) (Hardcover)
Clifford Rogers work on the military culture and strategic developments of the Fourteenth Century are well documented. As I have been engaged in a study of King Edward III is all aspects, I have found this single volume not only comprehensive in its coverage, but a convenient reference book. Not only are the primary sources well chosen and reflect a comprehensvie coverage of Edward's military exploits, but the scholarly articles by recognized experts concisely summarize their own researches and conclusions. This book is the most convenient single volume reference book on Edward III's military methods and achievements to date. It is well organized and easy to use. I look forward to its companion work, "War Cruel and Sharp" so that I can explore Roger's insights more fully in the near future.
