5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Brilliant
This book - the whole series, in fact, are so filled with power it is amazing. It convicted me, inspired me, and moved me. I read a lot of books, and I mean a lot, but very few are in the calibre this book is in. The characters are very real and the way in which they relate to one another makes you feel as though you are a part of the action. I became so involved that at...

3.0 out of 5 stars Warsaw Requiem
I totally got absorbed in this book....trying to imagine what it would have been like living in the Jewish sector of Warsaw, waking up to bombs dropping and fighter planes zeroing in on children going to school!

This is one book in a series of 9, called the Zion Covenant. I am on Book #8 and my husband is a book behind me. We cannot quit reading them! A...

I became so involved that at the end of the book I felt as though I had lost many friends. The writing style itself flows smoothly, never feeling stilted or cheap. The story-line was exciting, and the historical detail is so wound up in the story it becomes difficult to separate the two. All in all, I'd recommend this book to anyone, and I am sure that I will read it again and again and again.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book!, November 25, 2001

Silje Husveg (Stavanger, Norway) - See all my reviews
Well, I'm a 16 years old girl from Norway. The reson why I read this book is because in my class we had to read a book and afterwords we had to write a review of it. So, I went down to the school library, there I took the first book I could find... But I have to say that this book was great! It shows how the jews lived and felt it during the second world war, and I have learnd so much from it! I highly recomand this book for all ages, but it requires that you know something about 2. wordwar...

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic series -- want more!, July 24, 2000
By A Customer
I too love the Zion Covenant series. They are among some of the best books I have read about the era leading up to and during World War II. I, too, want to know what happened to the characters. I understand the new "Jerusalem Vigil" book tells what happens to them in 1948, but what about the interim? What about the most exciting and event-filled years -- those from 1939 until the war ended in 1945? I'd like to read what happened to them THEN. Please, Brock and Bodie Thoene, fill in the blanks for your characters during that time period!

4.0 out of 5 stars Heart-stopping, but definitely not a finale!, August 28, 2010
This review is from: Warsaw Requiem (Zion Covenant) (Paperback)
I have read all 6 of the Zion Covenant books and have been driven to laughter, to tears, and now, to frustration! I just completed book 6, Warsaw Requiem, and am wondering how in the world it could truly be a finale!? To become so involved in the lives of the characters and then for it to simply stop?! Having said that, I got online and realized that the authors wrote 3 more books in the series, albeit over 15 years later. I am hoping those will answer my many, many questions! Is Lori still stuck in the closet? Did Rachel die? Does Lucy get reunited with her baby? If Lori lived, does she see her husband again? I mean...c'mon!! That's a lot of unfinished business to be called a finale.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books ever written, June 12, 2000
By A Customer
Like the reader from Nevada I want to know more about what happens to all the characters I came to love and know really well. Now you can find out what happens to all these people by reading Bodie Thoene's new book Jerusalem Vigil. It tells what happens to Jacob and Lori, Lucy and her baby and the other characters like Alfie. If you read the Zion Chronicles it tells you what happens to Rachel and Yocav. I hope you find this helpful.

3.0 out of 5 stars Warsaw Requiem, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Warsaw Requiem (Zion Covenant) (Paperback)
I totally got absorbed in this book....trying to imagine what it would have been like living in the Jewish sector of Warsaw, waking up to bombs dropping and fighter planes zeroing in on children going to school!

This is one book in a series of 9, called the Zion Covenant. I am on Book #8 and my husband is a book behind me. We cannot quit reading them! A wonderful series on Jews, many Christians, trying to get away from Hitler in WW2. Your faith in the power of prayer is totally reinforced in these books. You see God's hand throughout....

3.0 out of 5 stars Kindle Edition Riddled with Typos, August 20, 2011
I don't find this book (Warsaw Requiem) quite as compelling as the ones that preceded it in the series, but would have given it four stars except the Kindle edition is riddled with typos. Every couple of pages you read a sentence that doesn't make sense, and then you re-read it and discover, oh, it's supposed to be BED, not BET, etc. A bit frustrating. Don't know if it was scanned from the book and if it has the same number of typos or if it is just the kindle edition. For the amount of money Kindle editions cost, I expect better quality. Other than that I am enjoying this series very much.

4.0 out of 5 stars Warsaw Requiem, May 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I loved this story but it was spoilt by so many mistakes. The wrong word was used many times with the correct spelling so it seemed that the spell check was used without any proof-reading done. This spoilt the overall reading experience.

This review is from: Warsaw Requiem (Zion Covenant) (Paperback)
This book is actually part of a series of books (about 15 in total) I am learning the history of pre WWII. It is extremely well written and grabs your attention so that you don't want to put the book down. Excellent for teens as well!
