I *still* fire this one up every so often!,

This is my favorite game for the Sega Genesis, and is high on my all-time, all-platform "Top 10" list. There is an intangible, immersive quality to Warsong that is difficult to convey to someone who hasn't played it. The game uses "chapters" to develop a deliberately-paced sequence of events; sometimes you're urged to take the offensive, other times it's wiser to look to your defense. There is great variety in the ~20 scenarios. The narrative establishes outlines of the major characters, and in RPG tradition it's up to your imagination to flesh them out. Warsong is a great blend of strategy and RPG elements. I still own an old Genesis for the sole purpose of playing this game. It's a masterpiece!

This game is great to anyone who likes rpg's and military stratagy all in one. The graphics aren't the best but who needs graphics when the game is fun and exciting. Also the music in the game is pretty cool.

I rented this game on accident when i was a young kid and i was instantly andhopelessly addicted. I would say this is one of my absolute favorite games of all time. I have played this game somewhat steadily for... geez, 8 years? This game has one of my favorite level up features of any game, and Incredible music. One of the few games where you can get the main character up to almost completely invincible status. I cannot emphasize enough how great a game this is. Worth every penny, no matter the cost. Very cool progression tree for all the characters as well. This one is a keeper. Oh yes.

Fantastic Fantasy Strategy Game,

This was a highly underrated game when it came out. I still consider it one of my favorite games even after all these years and even considering the upgrades in graphics for other systems. It was probably one of the first games that introduced a strategy game in a format I could enjoy. The story, as far as I remember, revolves around an extremely powerful sword named Warsong. Your kingdom comes under attack because of its guardianship of the sword and only you and your faithful mentor escape. You then begin the process of gathering allies in hopes of recovering the sword and ending this war. Your commanders can get promoted after gaining enough experience, and they hire varying types of soldiers to command. Compared to other strategy games it may seem simplistic to a degree, but I found it easy to learn and quick to implement - making the game very easy to enjoy. I love this game and highly recommend it, I still own my copy.

I played this game probably about 15 years ago... I miss it! I would get an old Sega Genesis just so I can play this again. It is a great game of strategy and role playing.
