big toe for moe.,

Ok. For starters, there is no need to preach to the choir here. This review is for the party who thinks they might be interested in this band but aren't sure where to begin. Well , this is the place. moe. is a band whose main asset is their live performances, and those of us who have been initiated into that scene know well enough that this band is a huge South American python, and once they get ahold of your little toe on your left foot, eventually they will end up swallowing you whole. So, this is your chance to stick out that toe and see what happens. moe. has stumbled onto something here that I have long thought was a no brainor for those musicians whose main asset was live perfofmance - official release of complete and intact live shows while the band is still performing, as opposed to the typical practice of releasing selections from the "archives" once the band has retired. This is a rock and roll band whose sound has touches of jazz ,reggae, hillbilly music and Dark Side of the Moon, and if that un-nerves you then it's best that you stay away, but frankly, the price of this 3 disk live set makes it a pretty safe investment, and my guess is that by the time you get to the end of set 1 on the second disk, you'll already have the bands website up, searching for the next show in your town (and they tour extensively so they will be there shortly). As for all you members of the choir, you won't find stuff this clean on any trading site (even comes with artwork by Chuck and it's labled with the wrong date, thats moe. for you!)

This show is amazing. I am a huge moe. fan who was raving about this show after attending it and I am extremely excited that it was chosen as the first in this live series. This show will turn anyone into a moe. fan.

Give me moe moe. !!!,
By Michael J Harrington (Phoenix, Arizona USA) - See all my reviews

These 3 Cd's are moe. I think they called it 'Warts and All' because you are getting the sound man's mix on CD. Generally this is OK, but as other reviews pointed out, it leaves something to be desired.Overall, I felt that the mix/sound on the Moe L CD was better, but there is a special 'sound' to this one that makes you feel that you are in the club with them - and that is where they are the best-est. Naturally I was disappointed on some of the selections. Meat, Timmy Tucker, Moth, Seat of my Pants were on the Moe L 'series' - so why repeat them here? Granted, I think that the renditions of these songs are better on this one, but guys, it is time to pick some unique, new stuff for Volume 2 of this 'series' should it continue. I only ask that we moe. fans are not barraged with 20 volumes like Pearl Jam tried to do. For the moe. beginner, get 'no doy', 'L' or 'tin cans and car tires'. For all the rest (moe fans), this CD, warts and all, is worth it, as the jamming is awesome and moe is in true form.
