5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and touching
The Wary Widow is one of those books that has stayed on my mind for days. One of my favorite parts is when the hero and heroine are at a garden party and involved in a version of hide-and-seek. 2.0 out of 5 stars Potential for a good story, didn't finish for bad language
The potential was here for a sweet romance with some mischief thrown in, with the identical twins switching places to be with the women they love. However, what should have been a romantic scene turned crude and I stopped reading. I realize that many romances have descriptive sex scenes in them, but I don't read them and won't this one either. 2 stars for what it could...

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and touching, February 16, 2011

The Wary Widow is one of those books that has stayed on my mind for days. One of my favorite parts is when the hero and heroine are at a garden party and involved in a version of hide-and-seek. The story is playful and fun, but it also has touching moments. I especially like that their relationship grows as the story progresses. I feel like Chloe and Andrew have a solid foundation on which to have a lasting relationship. That happily ever after I want when I read a romance. Bravo. Looking forward to more stories in the Weatherby Bride Series, at least I hope there are more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tender love story, February 9, 2011
This review is from: The Wary Widow (The Wetherby Brides, Book 3) (Kindle Edition)
This was an excellent romance--I couldn't put it down. Got hooked while we were iced in one day and simply had to finish it. A very tender, sweet love story about two people who shouldn't fall in love but do--and try to do the right thing, even when it nearly costs them their own romance. My heart broke for the heroine when she was finally forced to leave off mourning for her husband and wear colors again. Highly recommended!

Okay..it was free. But the tone and feeling of the story didn't resonate the Regency Period at all. I thought it had a few cute moments, but honestly, the characters were just so shallow I didn't care. I had to delete it about half way through the book because I jsut got more and more aggravated. There were also misspellings and odd things - like main male character "turned on his heal..." Heal? Really? I then hauled out my very old copy of "The Grand Sophy" by Georgette Heyer because I was so in the mood for a GOOD Regency romance novel. I hate giving poor reviews but I feel duped by reading the five star reviews!

5.0 out of 5 stars So Good!, January 28, 2012

I'm 15 and In my honest opinion, this book was AMAZING! It kept me on my toes with all of the suspense. As a teenager I like interesting books and trust me, this book was my entertainment for eight hours straight, I couldn't put it down. While I was reading this book I was always yellin something like "NO NO! STUPID! WHY?" or " AW CRAP! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" I really wanted to take Andrew and Chloes' minds into my power and yell at them what to do so that everybody was happy. I HIGHLY recommend this book.

I was really disappointed in this book. I didn't finish it because of the bad language and overly descriptive sex scenes. Don't get me wrong... I love romance novels... CLEAN romance novels. We all know what happens when two people love each other... so does it really need to be described in detail on paper? Besides.... I don't think a book needs to include that type of material in order to get people to read it. It is demoralizing and very frustrating for someone who's just looking for a quick, clean romance read. Even if you are a fan of "The Notebook" type of romance novels... the grammatical and spelling errors were hard to overlook. In the end... there are much better books out there to read... regardless of whether this one was free or not... a price which was way too expensive considering the flaws of this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars the story of 2 different girls, January 31, 2012

This review is from: The Wary Widow (The Wetherby Brides, Book 3) (Kindle Edition)
Chloe and Elizabeth. Two girls, similar in age (just a mere few months apart), yet so different in circumstances and looks. Elizabeth, the darling belle of the ball with a hot hunky fiance. Chloe, the poor widow, who is despatched from the country to chaperone Elizabeth. Chloe was pretty content with her lot in life until she ran into Elizbaeth's brooding fiance and, of course, sparks fly. Would they be bound by duty or would they follow their hearts?

A pretty engaging read (although a bit draggy at the end) with a cast of interesting characters. A unique point of this novel is that there isn't necessarily one really evil or bad character (often in such scenarios, the bride to be is depicted as a witch, but in this case, you get to see her side of the story as well).

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!!, February 8, 2011
This review is from: The Wary Widow (The Wetherby Brides, Book 3) (Kindle Edition)
I am a sucker for mischievous twins. And Andrew and Michael are perfectly mischievous in every way. My heart went out to Chloe, she was so easy to relate to. And I found myself falling in love with Andrew right along with her. I am SOOO hoping that Michael will soon have a story of his own.
