1.0 out of 5 stars WHAT WHERE THEY THINKING??, August 9, 2011
This review is from: Warzone (Audio CD)
Don't know if it was because of their management or that they thought that will break commercial sucess changing their sound to the growing crossover movement (RHCP, Anthrax releasing "I'm the man", etc...) but the once almighty skinhead hardcore band Warzone turned into a horrible hip-hop metal nightmare in just a year. I'm not against rap-metal at all (although is not my fave style) but nobody can believe that a NYC hardcore staple like WarZone changed his sound into a bland, heavy and boring piece of plastic like this. Not a single standout track. The reworked classics are slowed down to an unbearable point. And, most important, zero credibility. One should know what are his high and low points. And they forget his strong point (the simplistic but effective street-punk/hardcore) to a new style with mid-paced songs, rhythm changes and repetitive riffs. Even Raybees is at his low vocal point with no energy in his singing.
If you want to listen to Warzone check "Don't forget the struggle.../Open your eyes" Cd edition. Or even their Victory Records works. Stay away from this mediocre and absurd record.
