5.0 out of 5 stars a really good cd!
ok, this is a pretty good cd for a pop/r&b girl group. here's a little about each song

1. It was all a dream - ok this is an ok interlude. it's pretty cool cuz it introduces all the girl's names and all and the sound effects are sweet.

2. He loves you not - ok, i don't think i really have to say anything about this one. this is probably gonna the one song everyone...

3.0 out of 5 stars Mostly flawed, but still good Pop at times.
There are definitely flaws with this new CD, IT WAS ALL A DREAM by the new Pop girl group, Dream. No doubt these girls can sing, but what lacks in this CD is mainly some song lyrics and the music. I only liked the first half of this album, and every song after track number 7 was bad and the CD went downhill from there. The best songs are obviously "He Loves U...

5.0 out of 5 stars a really good cd!, June 19, 2001
This review is from: It Was All a Dream (Audio CD)
ok, this is a pretty good cd for a pop/r&b girl group. here's a little about each song

1. It was all a dream - ok this is an ok interlude. it's pretty cool cuz it introduces all the girl's names and all and the sound effects are sweet.

2. He loves you not - ok, i don't think i really have to say anything about this one. this is probably gonna the one song everyone will remember them by. it's a really good song, but DO NOT over play it.

3. In my dreams - it has a sweet beat in the beginning. i like the melody in the verses, i'm not a fan of the chorus though. nice lyrics too.

4. This is me - ok this is their 2nd single. it's a tight song. and it isnt an annoying bubble gum pop song either. and the good thing about this one is that if you love it, you can over play as much as you want and it doesn't get annoying.

5. I don't like anyone - ok this is a really good song. i personally think this should be the next single. it's a nice up tempo song.

6. Reality - ok this is the 2nd interlude. it's pretty funny if you actually listen to it. i know a lot of you skip the interludes, but the ones on this cd are actually pretty good.

7. Pain - ok this is probably my favorite track. it gots a catchy chorus and everything. sweet beat and the lyrics are ok i guess. and it has tight effects just like all the songs of course. and ashley has a rap part and it is sweet!

8. When i get there - ok this is one of the few ballads on the cd. the only reason this song isn't great is cuz the lyrics repeat a lot around the chorus parts and at the end. so i don't recommend on playing this one a lot of times.

9. What we gonna do about us - ok the beginning is tight. it's a kinda medium speed song, it's kinda like 'what a girl wants' (the original version) tempo. i guess it's an ok song. it's not the best, but thats just my opinion, you might love it.

10. Jordan - it's the 3rd interlude. its just the girls leaving messages on "jordan's" answering machine. he's playing all the girls and at the end ashley tells him off. pretty funny to me.

11. Mr. telephone man - i don't really like this one. i think its just on the cd to fill space. the lyrics are kinda dumb, but the girls still sound good singing it and it shows their range! this is an r&b song another medium tempo song.

12. Angel inside - it has a nice beginning, sweet beat, and it's another one of their r&b songs. so it's an ok song. it kinda reminds me of eden's crush 'get over yourself'

13. Do you wanna dance - a lot of people really like song and say it's the best on the cd. i think its ok. it's a good dance song (i guess thats why they named it 'do you wanna dance').

14. Miss you - this is another of the rare ballads on the cd. it's a really really good song. you should listen to it if your bf/gf is away on vacation or something like that. it's a sweet song and the girls sound like angels singing it.

15. Our prayer - ok, with the exception of 'pain' this is my favorite track on the cd. i just love the feeling of it. this last interlude is the girls giving thanx to God for all he's done and i just love it cuz it's from the heart.

16. How long - ok this is the last ballad on the cd. this is a very sweet song. the girls sound terrific singing it! the melody is great. and i can't really tell who's singing the solos, but whoever is singing all or one of the solos, they sound GREAT!

17. He loves you not (remix) - ok, to me this is a really good remix and is actually better than the original. and i'm not sure but i think that puff daddy is in the remix. now if you prefer r&b music over pop, you'll love this remix. but if you like pop better, you'll like the original version better.

well thats all i have to say. i hope this review helps you to decide to buy the cd. i hope you do! it's really worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Is You Be Dreaming Again???, February 4, 2001
This review is from: It Was All a Dream (Audio CD)
You bet this was all a dream, I would never dream of music this incredible or 4 girls that could sing so well. Dream is rare material that we don't get that often, since we get diluted pop like Britney Spears. Dream brings to us what is known as real pop, not diluted bubble gum pop that many singers offer today. Dream is the next exploding group since Destiny's Child and all of the girls take turns in singing lead on certain songs on the album. I'm really feelin' Dream because they are not like those tasteless groups that make songs about men cheatin' on their girls. All of Dreams songs are friendly to all people (boys & girls) and are not offensive, yet they contain a lot of class and taste.

Track List:

1.) It Was All A Dream (Intro) = This is a cute and great little intro for the album as well as for the members. It introduces them in the following: Holly, Ashley, Melissa, Diana, & Dream.

2.) He Loves U Not = This is there first Explodin' hit of many, that I'm sure of. This song is great and it puts the cheatin' ladies in there place, right were they belong. If you weren't feelin' this song that much than this album has a lot more to offer.

3.) In My Dreams = I only hear songs like this "in my dreams", this song is fabulous. Basically this song is about things peeps want and are unbelievable, so therefore they only happen in dreams. The beat to this song is smooth and the chorus of this song is really catchy.

4.) This Is Me = This song is so brilliant that its making me "a wreck", this is Dreams follow-up single to "He Loves You Not". I'm really feelin' this song, just make sure that your girl can't be compared to that of another. I think the hook in the middle of this song is really great, I think you'll like it.

5.) I Don't Like Anyone = This is by far my favorite song on Dreams album, so if you be feelin' this so than "I don't like anyone, the way I like you". This track is a great positive pop song that has wonderful vocals that I have never heard been expressed before.

6.) Reality (Interlude) = This is a really cute interlude where you get to hear all of the groups beautiful voices.

7.) Pain = This song has a great up-tempo beat with catchy characteristics, that you'll just love. There is a little rap break in the middle of the song, and Ashley does a great job of rapping. If you don't like this song than I have only one question to ask, "sup with you?".

8.) When I Get There = This song is somewhat ballad like but the beat is still mid-tempo. "I don't know were I'm going, but I'm going and I'll know it when I get there", and on the way I'll be listening to this song.

9.) What We Gonna Do About Us = I'm really feelin' this song because they share the lyric "what we going do about us" with my girl Jennifer Lopez and its featured on her new album J.Lo. This song is basically about decisions and I'm also feelin' its great beat.

10.) Jordan (Interlude) = This is another great interlude and I think this one is by far my favorite because it leads into another one of my favorite songs on this album which is MR. Telephone.

11.) MR. Telephone = This is one of my favorite songs on this album, and me love it long time. Dream did a great job on doing this cover song, I can actually feel what there feelin'.

12.) Angel Inside = This song is a good song, and is also somewhat in a ballad form, but Dream takes thing in different approach and make ballads interesting therefore making this song mid-tempo.

13.)Do You Wanna Dance = This song is about the only song on this album the reflects truly on Dance, and it has the essence of a old fashion beat. "Do you wanna dance" with Dream, if so than you need be listening to this track.

14.) Miss You = This song is more in ballad form and so is the beat and Dream takes there ballads to a different level and they prove it on this track. This track is somewhat sad but yet sweet and I'm feelin' it.

15.) Our Prayer (Interlude) = Just look at the title, it means exactly what it say. This track is just the girls of Dream praying behind heavenly music. According to my friend this is his favorite interlude.

16.) How long = This song is another ballad like song. There is something about this song that I'm really feelin' and I love this song to death. This song is really positive and somewhat sad, but yet this song is so unique and original that it gives you a good essence.

17.) He Loves U Not (remix) = I love remixes in general and when I heard there was a remix of this song, I just had to here it. I really like this remix and Dream shows how much they care about their fans to actually record this song over again, just for the fans. This remix features Puff Daddy on it and the beat to this remix is more R&B so this track stands out from the rest of them on this album.

I have five great reasons for you to buy Dreams album "It Was All A Dream"! 1.) There like a dream come true! 2.) They want to Dream of you! 3.) It's plain to see, that Dreams the only group that can sing! 4.) repeat steps 1 through 3! 5.) You just want to be with dream. Whenever Dreams feels their work is through, there busy recording or making videos for you. Stop Day-Dreaming and go buy this album!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dream is the best!, April 14, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: It Was All a Dream (Audio CD)
I really enjoyed Dream's first album, "It Was All A Dream." I think that Holly, Diana, Melissa, and Ashley are really pretty and talented.

1. "It Was All A Dream-(Intro)"- A very cute introduction with nice background/sound effects, and the girls announcing their names.

2. "He Loves U Not"- I would call this the "classic" of this CD. This is such a bouncy, happy song. I'm always singing the words to it.

3. "In My Dreams"- At first I didn't like this song, but then as soon as I kept on listening to it, it rapidly became one of my favorites.

4. "This Is Me"- I like this song a lot. It's about individuality. A very nice song, catchy and fun.

5. "I Don't Like Anyone"- I love this song, too. It's about only being absorbed into this guy, but no one else.

6. "Reality(Interlude)"- I personally like the interludes, and I really enjoyed listening to the girls discuss how Diana's bf was cheating on her.

7. "Pain"- Very cute. Although some people don't like Ashley's rap, I do. Nice piece.

8. "When I Get There"- This has to be an ultimate favorite. Even when this song is not playing, I'm still singing the words.

9. "What We Gonna Do About Us"- A nice and very true song. It's about problems with guy friends.

10. "Jordan(Interlude)"-When I first heard this, I wondered, "How did they do this?" Very cute, with the girls leaving messages for Jordan. I like the background music on each, also!

11. "Mr. Telephone Man"- I happen to like this song very much. It's cute, with a nice beat. A favorite.

12. "Angel Inside"- Another favorite. Whenever I hear this song, I start singing my lungs out!

13. "Do You Wanna Dance"- A definite favorite. It can really make you dance all night long!

14. "I Miss You Like Crazy"- A very sweet ballad. They sing really well in this song.

15. "Our Prayer(Interlude)"- An extremely nice interlude of the girls praying to God.

16. "How Long"- Another favorite. This is such a nice ballad. I love the lyrics: "There's a place in my heart, that it goes when I dream..."

17. He Loves U Not(Bad Boy Remix)"- I think that this is a funky, cool, ATTRACTIVE remix. A nice song that was added.

So, there you have it. Well, I gotta go. I feel like listening to their CD for the 50th time!

5.0 out of 5 stars Damn..., August 26, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: It Was All a Dream (Audio CD)
If anyone who knew me found out I was givin five stars to a pop album they'd drop dead laughing. Seriously, usually "pop" makes me sick as hell (as does Puff Daddy or whatever the hell he calls himself now) but damn, this album is bangin. It's got a song for every mood and damn near every song on this album has a sound that'll stick in your head for a long time. Especially #8...When I Get There has to be one of the most memorable songs I've ever heard.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Dream I Can't Wake Up From!!, August 9, 2002
By
Smilez (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: It Was All a Dream (Audio CD)
P. Diddy knows talent when he sees it. And when he laid eyes on the foursome that makes up Dream (Diana, Holly, Ashley and ex-member Melissa, he knew he struck gold. Dream may seem like an ordinary girl-group, but with strong vocals and bass-pounding beats, Dream is a Destiny's Child in the making. Set off by the lead single, "He Loves U Not", Dreams debut album blends pop, R&B, rock and soul together to form a solid first CD.

1. It Was All A Dream (Intro)- This intro finds Holly and the girls talking about living up to their dreams. They also introduce themselves.

2. He Loves U Not- The first single from Dream. This track combines killer lead vocals from Holly and meshes in a bit of hard rock and R&B. Most everybody knows this song, but I still listen to it. 10/10

3. In My Dreams- P. Diddy had a helping hand in this song, as well as in others on this album. This was their 4rth single and a good one. It's a straight-forward R&B song about infatuation and lust. P. Diddy introduces the four members in the beginning of the song and the up-tempo beat kicks in. 9/10

4. This Is Me- Their 2nd single. This song was produced by David Frank and Steve Kipner, along with "He Loves U Not". This mid-tempo song is about a girl telling a guy that she will never be like his ex and to take a chance on her. This song also has a remix with P. Diddy and newbie rapper Kain. 10/10

5. I Don't Like Anyone- This is my favorite song on the CD. This may be a pure pop-produced song, but that's the beauty of it all. The roller-coaster excitement of this song, along with sweet harmonies, make this song stand out. This song is about telling your crush how you feel. That could be a scary thing to do, but this song will get you started on your way. 10/10

6. Reality (Interlude)- This interlude has the girls talking about Diana's boy problem: her boyfriend went to the mall with his new next door neighbor. What makes it worse is that his neighbor is a girl. Ouch.

7. Pain- Finally, somebody other than Holly sings lead :p Ashley sngs lead on this tale of heartbreak. And what makes this song so cool (besides it's laid-back production and tight harmonies) is that Ashley breaks out into a mini-rap. Definetly worth a listen. 9/10

8. When I Get There- Dream's harmonies are best expressed on ballads like this one. The soft drums and spanish guitar add a mystical effect to this song. The chorus's are definetly the reason you'll love this song. This song talks about love everlasting and finding the perfect one. 10/10

9. What We Gonna Do About Us- This song will have you swaying your hips as soon as the techno-like beat comes on. One of my favorites. This mid-tempo jam finds Holly telling her crush that what she feels is real. The bleeps and bass in the beginning are a good touch to this track. 10/10

10. Jordan (Interlude)- Oh, boy!! Melissa, Holly, and Diana find themselves being played by the same guy. But before they find out the news, they each record their own little message on his answering machine. Complete with background music that suits their personality, the 3 girls ask him to call before they go to the studio. Poor Jordan gets a taste of his own medicine when Ashley tells him that he's not gonna play anybody from Dream.

11. Mr. Telephone- This is the old-school soul track. most of my friends skip this song, but I like it. It takes me back to the old days, while the lyrics show their young and mature side. Ashley has a hard time getting through to her boyfriend, so she calls and calls, but can't take any more. This track is long, but worth listening to. 8/10

12. Angel Inside- P. Diddy and Dream had a funtime recording this song, and it shows in their harmonies. They sing "You make me feel like an angel inside/Something that I can't hide no more..". They are basically telling a guy that they wanna be more than friends. The mix of hip-hop and R&B in this track is great. 8/10

13. Do You Wanna Dance- You should listen to this song at night while having a slumber party or something of that sort. This is a typical dance song, but again, their harmonies come off strong. Yet, this song could've been replaced or knicked. 7/10

14. I Miss You- Just like "When I Get There" and "How Long" (track 16), Dream's harmonies are so rich. You can hear the emotion in their voice as they tell their to come home where they belong. 10/10

15. Prayer (Interlude)- Each member gets a chance to say a little prayer.

16. How Long- This is my "looking-out-the-window" love song. Again, their harmonies are tight as ever and this song shows Dream singing about finding love. They even wish on a perfect star and ask the moon, if it's listening. I'm sure you will love this song after hearing it. 10/10

17. He Loves U Not (Remix)- This remix was released to radio, but was never a definite single. That's a good thing though. Although it was much needed after all those ballads, this song doesn't really offer Dream anything, but a fun in the sun song. 6/10

18. Back 2 U- This song finds Ashley telling her guy, Billy, that she misses him and wants to see him again. It has a little country beat, but bounces back into a pop song. Not a favorite, but good to chill to. 8/10

19. Baby- If you've seen Dream in concert, you probably have heard them sing this song. Just like "I Don't Like Anyone", this could be a pure pop-produced song. But it oozes with R&B and dance flavor. Soon, you'll find yourself singing "I know you want me baby/Just like I want you baby/So tell me what you gonna do/Baby, baby, baby.." Melissa sings lead on this song. 10/10

If you want a pop/R&B group that delivers, give this a try. With tight harmonies, well-crafted beats, and a backing major label, Dream is on their way to stardom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great debut from a promising girl group!, March 14, 2002
By
Rebecca (Massachusetts, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: It Was All a Dream (Audio CD)
I really like this new girl group, Dream. At first I didn't like them so much, but now I'm really into them...especially after listening to their CD, IT WAS ALL A DREAM. Most of the songs are really awesome and cool. This debut album is fantastic! The vocals are truly amazing, and they sound like the next Destiny's Child. Here are all the track listings:

1. "It Was All A Dream" [Intro]--cute intro. It kind of has a misty-type feeling to it, and the girls of Dream each say their names. NO RATING

2. "He Loves U Not"--you've all heard this one, 'cause it's their first big single. I'm really getting hooked on it! 5/5

3. "In My Dreams"--this song is really good, too. One of my favorites. It's got a very cool beat to it. 5/5

4. "This Is Me"--you've all probably heard this one, too since it's their second biggest single. It's awesome! 5/5

5. "I Don't Like Anyone"--a very cool song. Tight beat and lyrics. Love it. 5/5

6. "Reality" [Interlude]--in this interlude, Ashley's trying to tell Diana that her man's been cheating on her with his new next door neighbor but Diana doesn't want to believe it. NO RATING

7. "Pain"--I love this song! Very R&B. Ashley sings about her guy cheating on her and now she's leaving him and she's going to be better off without him. 5/5

8. "When I Get There"--great song. I like the beat and lyrics. 3/5

9. "What We Gonna Do About Us"--I love this song! It's very tight and funky. 5/5

10. "Jordan" [Interlude]--on this interlude, the girls keep giving messages to this guy named Jordan on his answering machine who they all like and then Ashley gives him a message saying to stop cheating on her friends and playing around. Cool! NO RATING

11. "Mr. Telephone Man"--not one of the better songs on this CD, I don't really like the beat or music all that much. 2/5

12. "Angel Inside"--I love this ballad! It's beautiful and the girls of Dream really do have wonderful voices. 5/5

13. "Do You Wanna Dance"--this song is pretty good, funky and catchy but not one of my favorites. 4/5

14. "Miss You"--this is a nice song. I like it. 4/5

15. "Our Prayer" [Interlude]--the last interlude on this CD. It's okay, but not one of the better ones. In this interlude, the girls talk about all their prayers and what they believe in. NO RATING

16. "How Long"--a nice song, but usually I skip this. 2/5

17. "He Loves U Not" (Remix)--okay remix, but the original version is better. 3/5

All in all, I really enjoyed this album. Though I do have to say they put a little too many interludes on this CD, probably trying to make it seem longer. Ashley, Diana, Melissa, and Holly all have awesome vocals, and like I said before, could be the next Destiny's Child. If you love teen Pop music, then this CD is highly recommended. Can't wait for Dream's next album!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beats out a lot of other pop CD's nowadays..., January 30, 2001
This review is from: It Was All a Dream (Audio CD)
The Introduction and interludes first of all are rather fascinating. There is a particularly edginess on them especially the one with Jordan. On the Our Prayer skit, the religious and perhaps even Christian subtext of the song is shared with Puff Daddy's personal beliefs. I would suspect that they have a religious overtone throughout the work.

The songs are quite vivacious to slow jams in terms of its range. The title song He Loves U Not is quite good and hardcore pop. Of course the remix with its rather odd use of a Houston Person sample is much more interesting than the original because it has the brightness which few would expect from a Caucasian girl group. The funk nature of the album is reemphasized in many of the songs such as "This Is Me", "I Don't Like Anyone" more so than in various artists such as Christina Augilera or Britney Spears. I think that the album could have been a little longer but the cohesiveness of the songs are wide-ranging from ballads to quick timing on the upbeat stuff.

Their voices are quite remarkable although not fully developed. Remembering that these are teenagers, I think after a few albums they have the magical touch of a quartet. Indeed the highlights of the album include "I Don't Like Anyone," "Pain", "When I get There", "What We Gonna Do About Us", "Miss You", "He Love U Not (Remix)"...

Enjoy this album. It's worth buying this album for its freshness. And it's original pop definitely in the creative sense and hopefully they can add more hip-hop elements into the board and definitely more samples...

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good CD, June 30, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: It Was All a Dream (Audio CD)
I borrowed this CD from my friend cuz I wasn't sure if I would like all the songs. After listening to it, I liked most of what I heard. Here's my review on each song:

Intro: Good sound effects in this intro. It has a little bit of singing and it sort of sounds like a dream: sweet and mystical

Loves U Not: Okay, I know you've all heard this song. It has great music, great lyrics and you can make up a pretty cool dance routine to it. But it can loose it's sparkle if over played.

In My Dreams: I love this song! It has a cool tune and great music (especially the percussion). The girls' voices really shine in this one too.

This Is Me: This kinda reminds me of something that Christina would sing. It's one of the highlights of the CD.

I Don't Like Anyone: I love this song! The tune and the chorus are really catchy. Another song you could make up a cool dance rutine to.

Reality: This is just the girls talking to Diana about her BF who they just saw at the mall with his "new next door neighbor".

Pain: All this song does is bring me pain! I'm so serious. I don't know how it could be most people's favourite. They repeat the same lyrics over, and over, and over, and over again, it gets sooooooooooooooo anoying

When We Get There: One of those rare slow songs on the CD. The Girls' voices shine in this one and the music is really good. Good Job girls

What We Gonna Do About Us: This is a pretty ok song. Not much else to say.

Jordan: All it is is the girls leaving messages on Jordan's answering machine. They're letting him know that he stood them up at the beach or the mall or some place.

Mr. Telephone: This song kinda gets on my nerves. The lyrics and the music aren't all that great. I know they could have done better.

Do You Wanna Dance: Don't let the title fool you, it really isn't a dancing type song. But the tune and the lyrics are pretty good.

Miss You: Another rare slow song. It has a nice tune, lyrics, and music. It's a really sweet song.

Our Prayer: A nice little interlude. The girls are praying, thanking Heavenly Father for all that he has done for them.

How Long: This is by far the best slow song on the CD, maybe even the best song all together. The lyrics are great and they go along with the catchy tune that perfectly matches the soft, sweet music.

Loves U Not (Remix): I HATE this remix. The original is soooooo much better. It goes really fast then slow. It gets on my nerves!

All in all, this is a pretty good CD. Just don't be fooled by "Loves U Not" becuase none of the other songs are like it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hot girl pop, February 27, 2003
This review is from: It Was All a Dream (Audio CD)
The music: A good bubblegum album with a fresh pop/dance beat angle and some very catchy tracks, most noteably #2 He Loves U Not (a fast, hot hit about another girl trying to get the singer's guy), #3 In My Dreams (a slow dance beat ballad about perfect love only happening in our dreams, my personal favorite), #4 This Is Me (catchy pop tune about the singer trying to convince her guy that she isn't the same as his former girlfriend who hurt him), #5 I Don't Like Anyone (fast and tight), and #7 Pain (a very edgy song about a girl who's guy has cheated on her and she's leaving him). Few of the other tracks stand out except #11 Mr. Telephone, which is cheesy enough to make any good album blush. There are also several interludes where the girls talk that are cute the first time around but get old eventually. P. Diddy's few appearances don't enhance the overall effect either. Still, the first half of this disc is terrific. The girls' vocals are super, blended together seamlessly, and the lyrics are at least average and often above.

The booklet: An unfolding strip with nice pictures of each of the girls, lots of thank yous, but ... NO LYRICS! (A big oops in my book.)

The artists: Holly, Diana, Melissa, and Ashley, all in their teens, the group formed by P. Diddy (known to his mom in his youth as Sean Combs).

In summary: Teenage bubblegum most definitely, but good fun.
