Brooke is funny.
Real.
And absolutely inspirational.

She makes the complicated - simple.
She makes the difficult - doable.
She makes the impossible - reachable.

This is the kind of book you can just keep on your coffee table. Thumb through it when you need a pick-me-up. The chapters are short and elegant. Just read a few pages - and she'll make your day.

I subscribe to a lot of blogs, and there are very few that blow me away each and every time. Brooke's is one of them. Some of what is in the book was previously posted on the blog, and some of it was not. All of it is amazing.

The subtitle is "some things I have taught and learned as a life coach," and I'm sure that is absolutely true. However, the wisdom and solid, deep truth in this book goes so far beyond what many people think of as "life coaching." I know there are a lot of life coaches out there, and many, many great ones (and I know some of them!) -- but there also a lot of "pseudo-coachy" people who are -- at worst -- trying to get your money, or -- at best -- so busy concentrating on concrete, worldly things like goal-setting, disciplining yourself, and getting ahead that the transformational aspect of coaching gets lost in the exercises and striving. That is not Brooke, or this book.

At the risk of sounding like I'm exaggerating -- Brooke Castillo is a modern-day wise soul. If Kahlil Gibran was a twenty-first-century American soccer mom, he would write things like this. Brooke has done the work and there is nothing she says that is not authentic, real, poignant, and true on a deep level. I love the work of Byron Katie (whose ideas Brooke has been inspired by and has drawn on) but I often feel like I can't achieve that kind of rarefied enlightenment in this messy world, in my messy life. Brooke brings it down to an approachable level. I can relate to her and her life. I leave her writing feeling like what she has done, I can do, too. I don't have to wait for some moment of divine awakening that may or may not come -- I can do this work, and awaken myself, day by day, while still living in the real world.

Brooke, has once again stepped up to the plate. I love this book, I found every page resonating with me. 100% Brooke, 100% honesty that is what you get from this book. I wouldn't have it any other way when it comes to Brooke, her coaching, and her books. I believe that everyone who purchases this book, will leave with at least one aha moment, if not many!!
YOU ROCK BROOKE. 5 Stars over and over again.....

Brooke Castillo is brilliant. This book combines many of her blog posts along with new insights. Reading this book is like having a personal coaching session. Open the book randomly and you'll find jewels perfect for your current situation. She figures out what all the great self help gurus are saying and puts into easy to understand language. I loved this book.

Here is what I love about this book. She is real, she has kids that are not perfect, her house gets messy, and she isn't sitting in prayer position all day meditating. But the insight she shares feel like material straight from the Devine herself(albeit maybe in a kick your rear more kind of a way). She tells you what you need to hear. You can read a sentence and re-read it and re-read it and it doesn't get old..... because it might have caused you to see for the first time...... that your long heavy repetitive life story(the one where you always put extra emphasis on those people that have caused all your pain and suffering) is just your thoughts ABOUT the story that is causing your pain now. It is freeing to know that many of your current woes were not caused by the hand you were dealt at birth(good for my mom to know, she is finally off the hook)There is not a person on the planet that could not benefit from this book. I highly recommend it!!!

I ordered this book because I get the blogs of Ms Castillo. She is amazing. The simplicity with which she presents the gifts of our muddled, confusing and stressful situations is like a deep breath in the midst of chaos.
Allowing what is to be without trying to shape or reconfigure it is a true gift. To be able to stand in the middle of your life, in a sea of work, details, lists, goals, bills-the messy continuum of daily living, and have the reassurance and insights that validate everything is happening exactly as it is supposed to, is like having your brain turn into a cup of peppermint tea. Soothing relief. For those of us who are trying to catch up to who we should be, it's a tranquil dose of appreciation for right now. I read a bit every few days and feel empowered and clear.

I absolutely loved this book, it is such an easy read, one of those books you can pick up at anytime and read a few pages. I have all of Brooke's books but I think I like this the best, it is funny, true to life and shows that Brooke still struggles like the rest of us. I am so blessed to have come to know Brooke and had some coaching by her she is wonderful. What more can I say but buy the book, I keep mine next to my bed and read a few pages each night, I have read through it twice already. Love it!
