Was And Is To Come: A Phenomenal Album,
This review is from: Was And Is to Come (Audio CD)
This album is a truly inspiring, hardcore, amazing album. The sound is something like Jessie Leach Killswitch Engage, meets Hatebreed, meets Lamb of God, Meets Demon Hunter. It's fast and powerful (both in lyrics and sound). I had the pleasure of meeting the singer this past saturday, and he is a very nice, genuine guy. The lyrics are Christian (it's pretty obvious when looking at the name), but even if you yourself are not Christian, if you are a metal fan, you will love this album. I HIGHLY recommend this album to any true metal fan.

Metal that "Was And Is to Come",

This review is from: Was And Is to Come (Audio CD)
This is band is rock solid. This is metal with no catches or loop holes. This will not be on the latest guitar hero. There will not be 15 year-old girls wearing Thy Will Be Done t-shirts. There is no clinched clean vocals for breathing room. This cd will however make you want to catch a few foxes and set their tails ablaze and send them running like wild banshees into dry forest. Consider yourself lucky if you somehow get recommended or stumble upon this flawless debut album. Jesse Leech makes a guest appearance and bellows out a dry throat stamp on "preserving the sacred". This cd starts out with with an eerie sounding intro...it kinda reminds me of a pirate ship coming ashore through a dense fog...then goes straight into 37 minutes of pummel. Just don't forget to pick up your teeth when your done listening...

Debut Album of the Year,
By
This review is from: Was And Is to Come (Audio CD)
WAS AND IS TO COME is honest, it's heavy and it's about time a band steps up to bring integrity back to metal. And just in case you were wondering... yes there are guitar solos and no, there are no clean melodic cliched vocals. This record is for fans of metal, pure and simple - Lamb of God, Haebreed, Machine Head, Sepultura, just to name a few...
I had the pleasure of reviewing this CD for Metal Edge Magazine a few months back (July 2007). Below is a copy of the text as it appeared. "Bludgeoning and brutal throughout, Was And Is To Come is an aural assault bringing metal back to the mid nineties. Sepultura, Carcass and Crowbar-esque influences are present, but it's less imitation and more a subtle homage paid in Thy Will Be Done's uniquely loud and heavy fashion. Was And Is To Come captivates and pummels from start to finish proving to be one of the more honest and complete debut releases of the year. Ranging from metal with a southern rock groove to a cathartic five minute epic, the result is thirty eight minutes of resistance to current metal trends."

Having heard only brief cuts from this prior to its release, I knew I'd love it, but did not know how much.
Most bands only dream their first album sounded this solid.

This is hard hitting, mosh pit lovers metal at its very best, if you dig Hatebreeds' style of just throw each other around kinda tunes, you are going to love this. Here's hoping for a growing career and many more albums from these guys.

Big Metal for the Big Lifts!!!,

This review is from: Was And Is to Come (Audio CD)
This CD is an amazing debut for a band! The drumming is tight, riffs are clean, and the vocals drift between heavy screaming with a splash of death metal. I am hooked on this CD and lent it to a friend to check out. He listened to it 3 times through in the 1st day, and said he couldn't get enough!!! I agree with him, this band has the right chemistry to go big, take no prisoners, and just play hard heavy metal music like it should be. Track 3, "Bloodwitness" is off the hook!! Total workout song that will fire you up for those big lifts! Great job fellas!!!!

I had to rate this album with only 1 star for the simple fact that they make out to be a christian group and they are defiantly not. Before I go any further I listen to christian music, and I listen to secular music, but I bought this cd because the samples sounded good, and I was under the impression that they were christian, BUT in there cd booklet in the back they give thanks not only to Jesus, but Muhammad, and Buddha. Anybody that nows anything about any of these religions knows that they are contrary to each other. Muhammad himself ordered the slaughter of thousands of jews, and christians throughout Saudi Arabia. On top of that they tour with groups that are anti-christian (five finger death punch). All of this may not seem like a big deal to most, but those that are looking for christian music they should check out Demon Hunter or Becoming the Archetype.
In short these guys if anything are new age not christian. As far as the music goes in itself they are talented, I just wish they were clear about what they stood for if they are going to stand for something. |
