1.0 out of 5 stars A Really Poor Biography
Most reviews give a description of the book, and then rate it according to a number of criteria. In this case, however, there really isn't much to say, as Quesnal's story is -- at least in comparison to the tales of other bikers -- uninteresting. Very little is actually revealed about Quesnal's time with the HA, and one gets the sense that Quesnal is more concerned...

1.0 out of 5 stars A Really Poor Biography, November 3, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: I Was a Killer for the Hells Angels: The Story of Serge Quesnal (Mass Market Paperback)
Most reviews give a description of the book, and then rate it according to a number of criteria. In this case, however, there really isn't much to say, as Quesnal's story is -- at least in comparison to the tales of other bikers -- uninteresting. Very little is actually revealed about Quesnal's time with the HA, and one gets the sense that Quesnal is more concerned about portraying an innocent facade than he is about telling the truth. This is a poor choice for anyone, but especially for those trying to learn a little about the so-called biker brotherhood.

I thought this book would give a better insight into the world of the HA, but I came away disappointed. Quesnel's story is interesting and controversial, but I don't think his story reveals enough details.

1.0 out of 5 stars I was a killer for the Hells Angels: The Story of Serge, January 16, 2004

Not a very good or entertaining book. More of a ramblimg egomaniac's diary. The book did not contain much detail on the events and jumped around way too much. He tries to make himself into a heavy and when it got hot he turned.

1.0 out of 5 stars Killer Clown, March 6, 2009
This review is from: I Was a Killer for the Hells Angels: The Story of Serge Quesnal (Mass Market Paperback)
The first problem with the book is it is a translation from the original French. It reads with all the excitement of a grocery list. The second problem is that there simply is NO symbiosis between the author and the main character, Serge.

Written in the fashion of a court reporter, it is stale as old dictation. No story, no intrigue. This is such a lame excuse for journalistic writing that you don't even feel duped at the end because you know after the first few pages, this is tripe intending to pass itself off as caviar by trading off the name "Hells Angels".

However, it gives some compelling insight into the techniques Canadian Feds resort to instead of solid law enforcement investigation and prosecution. The sordidness with which this deal was brokered to Serge left me wondering who the good guys were supposed to be.

Serge Quesnal makes no bones about the whore he is. This book is a testament to the fact that "truth" is for sale to the highest bidder. It is also a testament to what lengths Crown prosecutors will go, and more importantly, what they will overlook, in order to jail a full patch Hells Angel. In that regard, it can be said it serves some purpose.

This review is from: I Was a Killer for the Hells Angels: The Story of Serge Quesnal (Mass Market Paperback)
I read this book in a few nights, so it held my interest long enough to finish the book. I found the book didn't really have much insight into the Hell's Angels M.C..
If your looking for that info find another book.

This guy Quesnel was just a psycho punk who tried to prove himself in the crime world. Looks like both sides used him. He was a money grubber all the way to the end. Seems Serge would sell him self to anyone with the highest offer. At the end he talks alot about redemption. My guess is he will never lead a normal life and will screw up once he is on the outside again. Then the Police will have to answer for that mistake.

The most amazing thing about this story is what the Canadian police force will do to put a patch holder behind bars. They will pay a murdering rat fink almost anything he wants just to testify against someone they want to get! Is that how justice works? Also the author makes no distinction between biker and criminal. Too read his book you think all bikers are criminals. That's annoying too.

1.0 out of 5 stars sing loud and cash the check, February 22, 2005
This review is from: I Was a Killer for the Hells Angels: The Story of Serge Quesnal (Mass Market Paperback)
A rat is a rat......is a rat. I guess this guy and others like him (see Henry Hill and Sammy the Bull) feel if they can make some money getting average citizens to read about their exploits maybe they can justify (to themselves) their betrayal of their friends and brothers. You'd be wise to save your money and not make these kinds any richer...especially one like this who is short on details when it comes to his association with the Angels. In my opinion he only used their name to help sell the book. Don't bother. Read Sonny's instead.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, November 6, 2003

This review is from: I Was a Killer for the Hells Angels: The Story of Serge Quesnal (Mass Market Paperback)
I just finished reading this book yesterday. It's a great book, not much detail in regards to the angels, it's just a biography on one of it's members. Good story, very easy read.
