Book Description

January 5, 2005
Was That Baby by Joseph A. Tringali is a 240-page book written by the man who lived the story. It is the incredible but true narrative of a lawyer who respected his adoptive mother's secret while she was alive, and who, the day after her funeral, found his birth mother's best friend who led him to his siblings and to an extended family he did not know existed. More than just the chronicle of an adoption told by the adoptee, it is the saga of two women who each had the courage to pick themselves up after heartbreaking tragedy, and the man - the son of both of them - who was destined to tell about their live

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

"There is no better way to learn the importance of strong family ties than by growing up Italian." Although I was born of Scottish-English descent, I grew up Italian in a strong, loving, extended family. Deep in my heart, I always knew I was different; Grandma would tell me I was "special." This is the story of how I came to be a part of that family, and the joy we all felt when I found my birth sisters and brother, and how we found our seven first cousins. Most of all, it's about how my adoptive family "adopted" by siblings, and how we are now part of an even bigger loving and caring family.

From the Inside Flap

My life is the product of two indomitable women. In the half-light of my imagination I can picture them meeting once, very briefly, in the dreary room of a small hospital in Buffalo. There Mary Bradley would hand over her first-born child to Josephine Tringali. Mary would never see the boy again; never know the man he would become. In reality I know the meeting did not take place; there is no evidence for it, and I have no conscious memory of it. But if it had happened, I would have been the reason for it . . . . I WAS THAT BABY

4.0 out of 5 stars Incredible miracle within the tree of life, June 5, 2005
This review is from: I Was That Baby (Paperback)
I thought this was a very interesting story which led to a man that was fortunate enough to find his birth family to expand within the gift of love from his adoptive family. I was fortunate enough to be a part to learn about both family trees and encourage other readers to search for their family ancestors.
