5.0 out of 5 stars grand rebellion, October 11, 2005
This review is from: Wasa Wasa (Audio CD)
Cymbal breaking British underground rock for the harder politically rebellious edge of late 60's culture, Mr. Broughton & Co. came of age in cellar clubs in London and made no secret of their Captain Beefheart influence. Broughton's writing, vocal style and guitar work is fraught with gnarly character and energy mitigated only by a wry sense of humor. Absolutely the "Guy Fawkes" of the age of progressive electric rock in the U.K. and still a cult band in parts of Europe... Gut-kicking raunch even by today's standards.

Came across this very late.shame. but i love it nevertheless."sing brother sing" another EBB lp is a must have!

EBB was very ahead of their time! Powerful lyrics, incredibly inventive music, absolutely loved it!

I will be buying more of their music!

Kinda like a musical Q-Tip! A cleansing for the ears! Still Blown Away!

4.0 out of 5 stars evocative album of the late sixties, November 7, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Wasa Wasa (Audio CD)
Listening to the album thirty years on,it reveals that the quality of music was not high but recreates those late sixties idealisms of an anti-war generation focused on making a difference and trying to make the world a better place. The band was always greater live than on vinyl and this album will only be appreciated by those few who witnessed a live performance from the band. Not a classic album but for all those that were there at the time you can close your eyes think you are sixteen again and drop out! Essential listening!
