First let me say having a external charger regardless if you use third party batteries or not is a great asset because you can keep charging them as you swap batteries out of the camera and keep on recording.
The charger its self works like its supposed to nothing special to it. Does have the car charger option that is great.\
Now for the batteries and this is important to note because I see a few reviews saying they don't last as long as the stock batteries and this battery is supposed to last longer and they do.
Here is the thing with Lithium Ion batteries (Li-ion) when new when you first charge them when the light turns green it should be left to sit a extra 2 to 3 hours. It will take about 5 charging cycles for the battery to reach optimal performance and this is just a limitation of Li-ion battery technology not this manufacturer in particular. That being said after break in I get about an hour and half with GPS/BT on and close to 1hr45 to 2hr with GPS and Bluetooth off on the Contour+2 and yes these work with the +2.
This goes the same with cell phone batteries just FYI. Also if you completely discharge the battery you will damage it and may not take charge any more. When the Camera shuts down its actually shutting down with 5% or so of a charge on the battery if you keep trying to power up and completely drain the battery you will damage the battery beyond repair...
For the price of this 26 bucks you get two batteries and a external charger vs a Contour 2350 battery for 19 bucks. This alone makes buying this a no brainer.
