I needed another battery for my Panasonic HDC TM700k. I tried twice to buy batteries that didn't work. An error message appeared on the LCD telling me that the battery couldn't be used with the camera. So, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this high capacity relatively inexpensive battery worked flawlessly. So far, its charged quickly, and lasted about as expected. I don't even normally write reviews, but it was so hard to find this battery among the misrepresentations out there that I wanted others to benefit from my experience.

The Wasabi VBG260 battery is a replacement product for the Panasonic VW-VBG260 battery pack. Both batteries have the same nominal voltage: 7.2 V. Capacity of the Panasonic battery is rated as "at least" 2500 mAh, while the Wasabi claims to have 3000 mAh.

I charged both batteries with the standard Panasonic charger, installed them in a camcorder and recorded the same scene with the same settings. The particular camcorder model is not important because I was interested in relative differences in performance.

I monitored several aspects of batteries' performance, like:

* Declared remaining recording time
* Actual recording time
* Low battery warning message
* Automatic camcorder shut-off
* Integrity of recorded clips after automatic shut-off

At any time during recording a good battery should display remaining time consistent with actual recording time, give or take several minutes.

First went the original Panasonic battery. It worked 249 minutes in my camcorder. The display time never deviated from actual recording time for more than two minutes. As expected, one minute before the battery depleted completely, a low battery message appeared. When the battery was almost fully depleted, the camcorder stopped recording and then turned off. Video file on the memory card was properly closed and did not suffer any dropouts. All in all, great performance from the original Panasonic battery.

The Wasabi battery claims to have 20% higher capacity than the Panasonic battery. When recording started, the Wasabi battery displayed the recording time similar to the Panasonic battery - 240 minutes.

I'm pretty much a gear head/ junkie so over the years I've sampled a number of batteries from Wasabi power and this is as good or better than anything I,ve had from them before.

On the panasonic TM700 while recording in 1080p 60 mode(the most battery intensive mode) you get about 2 hours and 45 minutes recording time with the lcd open and running the entire time. Thats pretty darn good !
I was getting under an hour with the stock battery closer to 45 minutes

The battery that came with my Panasonic HDC-SD600 was only good for about an hour. I need a second battery and was concern about buying a non-panasonic brand battery.
The Wasabi Company has a great reputation so I purchaed the Wasabi Power battery from Blue Nook and received it within 5 business days. It showed 2:19 minutes when received. After a full charge it was 3:11 minutes. It does register on the camera and adjust with usage.

This appears to be a good price and is fully compatable with my Sd600. It charges on my SD600 charger. The SD600 is the same as the TM700 without an external Mic.

Bought one of these batteries in mid-Sept and it was great but didn't know if it would last. After 7 weeks of using this battery at least twice per week for concert videos, I'm convinced that it truly is a fantastic bargain and ordered a second one today. Here's what you probably want to know:

---Am using this with a Panasonic HDC-HS700 camcorder.
---Fully charged it shows 3 hours of recording time and I get all of that if not more.
---My "recording time left" meter works accurately with this battery.
---It hasn't diminished in charging capacity after about 15 charges.
---Works with the charger than came with my camcorder.
---Extra weight is not noticeable, the sticking out an extra inch in the back isn't a problem.
---I've found that having a 3 hour battery is much more practical than having to make a switch when using two 90-minute batteries.

All in all, I've found absolutely nothing negative about this battery. Not saying it is better than the official Panasonic version, but it seems to be as good and the price savings can't be beat.

Bought this to use with my Panasonic HDC-HS250 as spare battery.

Charged up the battery, placed in camcorder, and recorded a short clip. Then went to playback, and everything worked (so far). Move selector dial to off, and the LCD goes dark, lens shutter closes, but power light still shows on. Turn selector dial to video capture, and nothing. LCD display stays dark. The only way to unlock the camcorder is to remove the battery.

Put in the original Panasonic battery and everything works properly so I know it's not the camcorder's problem.

Update Jan. 3, 2013

After a replacement battery that was shipped promptly and several phone calls with their technical support, this problem is still not solved. Seller is processing return and promised a refund. I've added a star to the product review for the excellent support received from the seller.
