Some ads date from eras when it was common to depict laundry workers as stereotypes. Although considered inappropriate today, they are among the most highly collectible for their visual documentation of social history. Good price guide, but not always useful in a scholarly sense,

This is a good introduction to the topic of laundry material culture, and is a must for the collector. However, for scholars of material and visual culture, it's not as helpful, given that the objects featured often have little information beyond their price and location of production. No date of origin is offered, making it awfully hard to get a good horizon established. Otherwise this is a good introduction to the topic.
