Book Description

0781791502 978-0781791502 April 23, 2008 Second

Prepared by residents and chief residents with senior faculty advisors at the Washington University School of Medicine, this handbook is an updated, easily accessible quick reference for handling everyday problems encountered in gastroenterology. It covers both inpatient and outpatient approaches with the same front-lines practicality as the world-famous Washington Manual® of Medical Therapeutics.

The first section covers common symptoms, signs, and laboratory abnormalities; the second section focuses on specific diseases. Chapters are structured to help the clinician develop a logical, systematic approach to these common problems. Key points about the diagnosis and management of disorders are bulleted for easy reference. This edition also includes illustrations.

The Washington Manual® is a registered mark belonging to Washington University in St. Louis to which international legal protection applies. The mark is used in this publication by LWW under license from Washington University.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, November 12, 2011

This review is from: The Washington Manual® Gastroenterology Subspecialty Consult (The Washington Manual® Subspecialty Consult Series) (Paperback)
I used this manual to serve as a guide for my 4th year elective Gastroenterology. I like the way the book describes the individual sections that are commonly seen pertaining to this specialty on the floors. The book easily fit in my white-coat pocket and was accessible whenever needed. There was certain specific materials that I was looking for that was not included so I had to revert to "Up to Date," but overall this book provided me with current accurate knowledge. 4/5

I really liked this book. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that it didn't have things like gastroparesis in it. Other than that I learned a lot!!!
